ZayZayy is bringing the heat this summer! Steadily providing music that’s unique, creative, and always tells a story, ZayZayy has been climbing up the ranks and delivering nothing but hits for his audiences. He’s an up-and-coming artist who is eagerly anticipating his turn in the spotlight. He recently released his new track “Walk Wit It,” which displays his abilities on a whole new level and solidifies him as someone to keep an eye on.

The song is catchy and ultimately relates to a real-life experience that ZayZayy had.

“I would describe my sound as ‘reality’ in a sense to anyone who may not be familiar,” he said. “It’s a sound a lot of people tend to relate to.”

With this new tune, the independent artist, who hails from Liberia, Africa, shows the world what he’s capable of. It’s a profound, introspective track that relates to ZayZayy’s recent experience.

“The song was inspired by a break-in at my apartment while I was out of town in NY and translated into me writing a song about ‘when doing something good, the hate is going to come – gotta embrace it!’” ZayZayy explained in a recent interview.

ZayZayy’s resolve to push even harder was fueled by the song, which he wrote after his flat was broken into. According to him, it was an awful scenario that finally inspired him to write “Walk Wit It” and accept the truth that success is accompanied by hatred. “Walk Wit It” is a nice single that showcases ZayZayy’s narrative and lyrical talents. It features a nice chorus and, in the end, a relaxed atmosphere with some singing and melodic rapping.

In terms of who ZayZayy is as an artist, he claims he is influenced by Davido, Drake, and Young Thug. It’s no surprise that his music has been regarded as a distinct “realistic” sound with a component that everybody can identify with.

“Music initially was used as an outlet to tell my story, like a form of therapy for many years,” ZayZayy said. “I started taking music more seriously in 2019 once I became managed by Round Group Entertainment.”

ZayZayy says he’s had lots of good moments in his music career now that he’s taken his music profession seriously. ZayZayy is just getting started, from working with other artists like Babyface Ray and Lil Dude to utilizing music as a creative avenue to express himself.

“My most proud moment is honestly when my mother accepted my music as a career and having her support,” he said. “Like I said, coming from a third world country, music is not seen as a career.”

ZayZayy is demonstrating that he’s not someone to mess with with songs like “Walk Wit It,” as well as a repertoire of other tracks like “We Not Cool” and his new EP “Just Because.”

When asked what he wants people to take away from his songs, he said:

“I hope my music is receptive and really something people can connect and relate to.”

Nocturnal is bringing the heat this summer — as well as some of his opinions and thoughts about the music industry. He demonstrates his flow and lyricism once more, this time discussing the experience of being neglected by industry labels. He conveys his dissatisfaction with being neglected in the freshly released song “Run It Up.” And it’s difficult to ignore what he has to say. Nocturnal is a rapper with a lot of potential, as he delivers bars, jewels, and everything in between, demonstrating his poetic skills. “Run It Up” is just another example of what he’s capable of as a rapper.

“This project is really about label’s overlooking my skill and talent right now, and by the time they finally give me a fair look and try to sign me it will be too late,” Nocturnal explains in a recent interview. “In the video it shows a crew threatening me, trying to change me into one of them, meaning the industry trends. This video illustrates when the label’s finally do give me a chance, they are going to try to change my sound and focus more on radio success than the art.”

Nocturnal, a New Haven, Connecticut native, starts the video by being cuffed and forced to view a set of screens by guys with bags over their heads and weapons in their hands, indoctrinating him into the music industry and altering his sound and character to be more marketable. The subject of Nocturnal’s song, which is brilliantly conveyed in the visual, is that, despite being neglected for so long, labels who show interest will want to modify aspects about him and his music.

The graphic depicts Nocturnal as a prisoner, incarcerated from his work. The entire song video is kept hostage by Nocturnal, a great metaphor for being stuck in a label that wants to modify everything about you. As Nocturnal gets indoctrinated into being another industrial clone, the imagery is fascinating as he takes you on a hypnotic metamorphosis.

Nocturnal has proved that, despite feeling neglected by labels, he has the perseverance, talent, and passion to build a successful rap career.

7 Alkaline just debuted his first album, Relationship Status: The newly single rapper showcases his natural talent as a rapper in this project, available on streaming platforms everywhere

7 Alkaline is a young artist out of Jersey City making some serious noise, especially after his premiere project, Relationship Status, in which 7 Alkaline focuses his heartbreak into a cohesive 11 track project detailing his dismay, anger, and distress as his relationships comes to a screeching halt. 

The album opens with “Bad Guy,” a plea for people to know the truth and how he’s not a bad guy, as there are two sides to a story, and this is the start of 7 Alkaline telling his side. As the album progresses from track to skit, a voicemail detailing his worth, 7 Alkaline gets reflective as he thinks back on his relationship, and he can’t tell what was true as he pondered that “She Never Cared.” 

The project is full of vulnerable moments as 7 Alkaline details the obstacles they faced, as her unfaithfulness leads to the end of their relationship. Songs like 7 Alkaline’s “Unprotected Heart” and “Her Secrets” showcase incredible lyricism and storytelling skills. Alkaline gets vulnerable, illustrating the aftermath and tipping point in their relationship. Alkaline warns of the consequences of heartbreak as he doesn’t “sing pretends,” leaving it all out on the table. In 7 Alkaline’s song, “Unprotected hearts,” 7 Alkaline details in narrative form what happened and how he felt about the betrayal. 

“It’s super emotional, and the lyrics are just plain raw. I don’t think I could have told it any better than I did, and it’s exactly what happened word for word,” he said. 

Vulnerability seeps throughout the entire album as 7 Alkaline keeps it real, dropping gems on love and heartbreak. As he gives his listeners a window into his mind amid the fallout of his failed relationship, from the confusion to the anger, 7 Alkaline forms an impressive debut project as he lays the groundwork for what is to come.
