Published

on

Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Jiggz is an independent artist that has a versatile sound and is ready to make a positive impact with his music. The up-and-coming artist takes pride in being authentic and writing lyrics that are relatable.  Formally a dedicated football player, Jiggz found that music was the perfect alternative for him to express his thoughts.

“Music is the way I express myself. It’s the only way I let out my emotions because I tend to bottle things up unless I’m in front of a mic.” He said, “I also have a competitive nature in music as well and strive to always be a better version of myself as an artist.”

Starting his musical career back in 2017, Jiggz has been quite successful in the past few years. You may have heard his music on popular shows such as Daredevil, The Chi, The Grand Army, and a short film called Holler. Ultimately, the independent artist hopes to have a long-lasting career by inspiring and encouraging his fans to chase their dreams.

“I plan to make a positive impact in a way where when people listen to my music they feel a certain way of themselves in a positive light.” He admits, “I want to impact everyone who takes a listen.”

Representing the core of Miami, Jiggz is the next artist on the RISE! Ready to make moves, the independent artist has been working on his first solo EP “Jiggyworld” that is dropping today!

Atlanta Artist DavidTheTragic Unleashes New Visual Titled “ALLERGY”

Published

on

DavidTheTragic has proven himself to be one of the most diligent and original stylists in Atlanta ever since he broke through the underground in early 2019. Since then, he has released three tapes, “Fit In,” “Bender,” and “How It Feel,” which all act as evidence for his improving and expanding abilities as an emcee. David manages to stand out in the hip-hop mecca by being a keen expressionist who uses articulate lyricism and gruff flows to paint lofty portraits of his psyche. He resides in a similar introspective lane as Kenny Mason, Ovrcast, Jelani Imani, and Mavi. His newest single + video, “ALLERGY,” is yet another testament to DavidTheTragic’s originality and masterful rapping ability. It’s clear that no one else sounds like him or flows like him right now. The video, directed by Brendan Mcgregor, matches the aesthetic of David’s recent videos for singles “Money First” and “Lori.” It shifts from scenes of intense color correction to David on a roof or in an alley shaking his dreads and talking his shit. The track is a two and a half minute frenzy of clever bars: “I was on a year long bender / These n***as my son like Simba / She like when I hit from the fender…Underground like Master Splinter…Egotistical I suppose / I just move with the highs and lows…I ain’t hatin’ on a n***a that look like me / Please hit me with zeros I ain’t doin’ no shit for clout or IG.” It sounds as if David hopped in the booth then splatter painted the beat with everything that was on his mind at the time.

Kevin Powers Makes Soul-Filled Pop-Rap

Published

on

Hailing from Charlotte, North Carolina, Kevin Powers makes soul-filled pop-rap in the vein of The Kid Laroi and the late great Juice WRLD. On his newest single,“Since I Got On,” the 19-year-old flexes his lifestyle, which has quickly gone from normal to lavish through the success of his music. Produced by longtime friend Whit Kane and collaborator Fernospazzin, Powers exhibits his natural talent for finding the perfect middle between hard-lined rapping and raspy singing. The video, directed by Levi DeSantis, shows Powers riding around in a Corvette, throwing money, and popping bottles: we witness the perks of the fast life he lives. Kevin Powers has been on a roll this year, seeing his stock dramatically increase through just a few releases, all of which have gathered 100k+ listens on Spotify and 10k+ views on YouTube. Being so talented, young, and comfortable in the spotlight, it seems like there’s nowhere for Kevin Powers to go but up.

Cleveland Rapper Freshie Drops Visual For “Bad Guy”

Published

on

A staple of the underground of Cleveland, Ohio, Freshie has been punishing beats for years. On his latest release, “Bad Guy,” Freshie starts and ends the track in fifth gear, not taking his foot off the gas for even a second. The menacing 808Demon produced instrumental pairs perfectly with Freshie’s sinister verses: “Creep inside this house it ain’t no Santa Claus / Police they be watchin’ shit I’m like fuck em all.”  The quality and originality of this track highly impressive, but shouldn’t come as a surprise for someone as staunch and solidified as Freshie, who has worked with 808Mafia, ChaseTheMoney, Chxpo, KEY!, Lil Xan, 03 Greedo + more in the past. The video for “Bad Guy,” directed and edited by Zenen Saneshige, is a 3 minute adrenaline rush – Freshie does donuts in an SRT, the camera chaotically pans in and out, and Freshie poses by cop cars. It’s yet another testament to what makes Freshie one of Cleveland’s most consistent and colorful voices in rap.
