M24 Drops “Back In Blood”

Published

on

Best known as one of the UK’s most exciting breakthrough acts, South London rapper M24 – returns and delivers more heat with his brand-new release ‘Back In Blood’. Determined to set the tone following the release of ‘High Right Now’ earlier this year, M24 flies us over to Jamaica to deliver the visual offering.

Having shown real musical dexterity with his sound as he draws on an array of music genres including Drill, Afro Bashment and Trap, his latest effort leans towards drill-centric sensibilities; bouncing, bass heavy production by Lekaa Beats, intricate flow and slick wordplay as he plays on the popular saying “Back In Blood”. Directed by Toxic, the clean new visuals shot on the high-spirited Caribbean island, you see M24 flex subtly and then some – ‘Back In Blood’  is truly another indicator of his lyrical brilliance.

M24 built a buzz as a young member of iconic Brixton collective 150, bringing his saucy brand of drill to the U.K. mainstream in the late 2010s and early 2020s. Coming up under the 150 banner, Brixton-based rapper M24 found his first major success alongside 410’s Skengdo and AM, joining the Myatt’s Field duo for 2017’s ‘Do It & Crash’.  In 2020, M24 dropped the viral Tion Wayne collaboration ‘London’  which soon reached in excess of 40 million streams across online platforms.

After lending his talents to a number of notable features including iLL BLU‘s ’Dumpa’, GRM Daily‘s ‘Peter Crouch’, the rapper released his debut mixtape, ‘Drip N Drill’, in August 2020. Self-described as a reflection of “a new M24,” the project pushed the rapper’s sound across the U.K. rap spectrum, dipping into Afro Bashment and Trap scenes alongside drill-centric material.

Endowed with a distinctive tone that sets the rapper apart; and a quality beat selection. Early support has been seen from key tastemakers New Wave Magazine, Respect Magazine and GRM DAILY positioning him as a household name for the culture. Rightfully so, as M24 is.

Asian-American rappers Star2, ChinaTownRunner, and $tupid Young release the new single / video entitled “FWM”. The single precedes Star2 and ChinaTownRunner’s upcoming EP and sets the bar high with haunting cavernous beats and dark melodic flow.

Each of them affirm that they are “about money” in their separate verses and all ask listeners to “come and F*** With Me.” The music video for “FWM” captures Star2, ChinaTownRunner, and $tupid Young in a graffiti-stroked garage full of sports cars and women. Leaning into the sheer magnitude of the track itself, the visuals for “FWM” zero in on each rapper for an intense performance.

Star2 and ChinaTownRunner are preparing to embark on a summer tour with $tupid Young set to appear at multiple dates. Additionally, Star2 and ChinaTownRunner will perform on July 6th in support of the annual Ka-ren Soccer Tournament and Concert in South Dakota.
