R&B Songstress Liyah Shares Debut Sonic Visual “Always There”

Published

on

17-year-old songstress and independent artist Liyah drops the visual for her debut single “Always There.” The song is a harmonious effort that displays Liyah’s talents and skills in a way that audiences have yet to see from her. The Toronto native brings a unique sound to the R&B industry, while keeping her lyrics original and different. She stands apart from her peers in that she brings a pop blend to her music — making for a catchy tune that is sure to be on repeat all day.

“It’s a song about realizing your worth as an individual and wanting to be valued in your relationship,” Liyah said in a recent interview.

Despite the song being about a love interest who is making Liyah feel insignificant, her short yet vibrant dance routines and boisterous vibe add to the catchy feel of the song.

Liyah begins the visual walking into a dance studio reminiscing about her lover and vibing with two dancers. As the song builds up to the hook, the audience gets quick clips that tease her dancing in the studio. Given that she’s named after the late great Aliyah, it seems only fair that she’d be sporting 90s inspired parachute pants and a white crop top.

After the hook, the young singer alternates between hanging out in a car with friends and dancing in the studio alongside backup dancers. All in all, Liyah is able to channel a very 90s vibe for her visual while still maintaining a modern feel that could make a fan out of anyone.

Chi is the R&B prince of Vancouver. He is known as one of the best upcoming acts in his space in Canada. The sultry visual shows Chi in 4K singing while a beautiful woman cleans up his home. The Canadian singer is seen in a club while women dance in a manner he wants all for himself. Although he is not American, it is clear that he is also a fan of gentlemen’s clubs. Anthony Grosso produced the Snap Sinatra-directed visual. The photographer’s direction from Justin Filippone paints a clear picture of the scene.

Chi has a voice that women usually fall over. His high pitch helps create a soft mood and pairs well with his smooth instrumentals. Alexandra NextDoor is easily the star of the show. Her scenes are breathtaking and help the team well alongside Chi. His track “Body/All 4 Me” is a great starting point for anyone who wants to become a fan of the engaging new songwriter.

Genre-defying artist MYKA released his new single and visuals for “gucci bloom” via ESCNT Records. “gucci bloom” is MYKA’s first single release this year, following the recent success of his debut EP WHERE WE GO FROM HERE, which was released last year. In “gucci bloom,” the songwriter, who continues to push the status quo with his bold conceptualism and experimental poise, reflects on lost love and painful endings as it relates to dating. MYKA confides, “The message is basically about not repeating relationships or things over again the same way you did before but with different people. It’s happened to me a bit, but it’s just because I didn’t learn the other times. You gotta stop repeating bad habits. It’ll take time, but no matter what, always choose you first. It happens to the best of us especially when you’re in the moment.” “gucci bloom” features unabashed lyricism, warm intimate vocals, and a kaleidoscope of experimental soundscapes.
