Fusing NYC drill and Jersey Club into an incendiary mix that fills dancefloors on both sides of the Hudson, Bandmanrill, Sha EK, and MCVERTT define the sound of the new East Coast. Today, the Newark innovator, the Bronx rising star, and the 3x Platinum producer announce Defiant Presents: Jiggy In Jersey (ft. MCVERTT), executive-produced by MCVERTT, a supersized tape that shows off their considerable talents.

United under the banner of Defiant Presents, the Trio’s upcoming project demonstrates the Earth-shaking chemistry between Bandman’s smooth, rapidfire rhymes, Sha’s booming delivery, and MCVERTT’s indomitable, high-BPM production. Spanning 26 tracks, including the third installment of the epic “Jiggy In Jersey” trilogy, Defiant Presents: Jiggy In Jersey (ft. MCVERTT) arrives on June 30th via Defiant Records / Warner Records and is now available for pre-order.

Along with the announcement of the tape, Bandmanrill, Sha Ek, and MCVERTT share “Pistons,” their high-octane new video single. MCVERTT crafts a lush and propulsive backing track, combining sweeping strings with sliding 808s and skittering hi-hats to create a symphony of drill. Bandmanrill and Sha EK go toe-to-toe in a joint effort to annihilate all opposition, the Club Godfather reaffirming the rules of La Cosa Nostra for anyone who might’ve forgotten. In the video, Bandman and Sha take the subway from the Bronx to Manhattan, taking their crews on a shiesty-clad tour of the city. The video for “Pistons” follows in the wake Bandmanrill’s Crystal Waters-sampling “Mr. D.C.T.” and Sha EK’s “Never Want To Be Them Part 2,” featuring Chicago’s Lil Zay Osama.

Bandmanrill, Sha EK, and MCVERTT prepare to celebrate their new partnership this weekend at Hot 97’s Summer Jam, where they will headline the Defiant Warner Records Stage, hosted by French Montana, DJ Drewski, and Mia Belle. The Jiggy In Jersey troika top an exciting young bill that also features heavy-hitters like SAFE, Pheelz, and Kenzo B, with Funk Flex on the decks. Summer Jam 23 happens on June 4th at UBS Arena in Elmont, NY.

Over the past 18 months, Bandmanrill, Sha EK, and MCVERTT have proven to be three of the most influential forces in the East Coast rap scene. Bandmanrill’s spectacular 2022 featured dancefloor-shaking hits like the FADER-acclaimed “REAL HIPS,” culminating in his debut album Club Godfather, which Pitchfork praised as “breakneck” and “intoxicating.” Known for his natural megaphone of a voice, 20-year-old Sha EK reached the #1 spot on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart with his debut Face Of The What, and connected with Bandman for the East Coast anthem “WHO YOU TOUCH.” Rising producer MCVERTT is heralded as a father of the club rap scene taking hold in Newark, Philadelphia, and across the East Coast. MCVERTT is a credited producer on Lil Uzi Vert’s 3X Platinum, Top 10 hit “Just Wanna Rock.” The Tri-State trio are regular collaborators: Bandmanrill and MCVERTT made headlines for their unique club/drill hybrid, while Rill and Sha connected for club-crashing local hits like 2022’s “Jiggy In Jersey,” “Jiggy In Jersey Pt. 2,” and “WHO YOU TOUCH.”

Now signed to Defiant Records, in conjunction with Warner Records, Bandmanrill, Sha EK, and MCVERTT are ready to take their movement from Jersey to the world.

Stay tuned for much more from the “Jiggy In Jersey” trio as the weather gets warmer.

Chito Rana$ puts the pedal to metal and releases a solo track that has surpassed 500,000 views on YouTube within a week. His approach to music ever since his freedom from incarceration, has been making a huge impact especially to those whom have a similar story. Rana$ is the most influential when it comes to Chicano rap because of his Spanish usage in his songs dating over 5 years ago. The culture remains to stand behind him and his authenticity, creating a sort of Chito-Mania since his release from jail. Chito’s unique versatility allows him to flawlessly transition from English to Spanish, and vice versa, talking bout the seriousness of his reality in Sacramento.

On this track “All The Smoke” Chito is at his most brash, starting the song by saying “I want all the smoke come and kill me bitch”, then goes into a lyrical onslaught about his opposition. The video shows him in the studio flexing chains and showing his electric energy.

HOODLUM shares new video for “PRESSURE” / “CASH $”

Published

San Antonio’s prolific rapper, HOODLUM has just shared a new video for “PRESSURE” / “CASH $”, off of his new album, Southside Story. After breaking out on the national stage with his 2019 single, “OJ” (3M Views), HOODLUM and his music quickly took off online due to his anxious yet punchy flow, and unique croaky cadence. He subsequently landed on the soundtrack for the horror film, Random Acts of Violence later that year. In June 2021, visual artist Colton Valentine painted a mural of the rapper adjacent to a memorial of Nipsey Hussle, solidifying HOODLUM’s spot as a San Antonio Star. Fellow Texas rapper Maxo Kream caught onto HOODLUM’s wave in 2021, jumping on “OUTSIDE”. His laidback flow, off-kilter cadence, and an ear for deep and bass-heavy beats has set HOODLUM apart as an emcee with a sound that’s uniquely his own. In the words of Pitchfork“No rapper in Texas right now has a better beat selection than San Antonio’s HOODLUM. The South Side rapper can lay his croaky delivery over any type of instrumental: a soul sample, trendy minimalist Texas production, or a Bay Area funky flip.” On his new project, Southside Story, which boasts features from Maxo KreamPaul WallValee & DoemanHOODLUM expands on his distinctly dynamic sound, as he details his complete life story and brings his signature low-key Texan flair to new heights over an impressive array of beats ranging from G-Funk to hard-hitting Southern Trap to Boom-Bap.

In his new video for the standout track “PRESSURE”HOODLUM proudly flexes his outlandish personality and work ethic. Over the thumping drums and eerie piano loop, he showcases his authoritative presence as a distinctively Southern emcee with his syrupy flow and expressive lyricism. In the second half of the video, as the visuals get dark when it switches to nighttime, HOODLUM performs the ambitious “CASH $” while riding around in his whip – “You know who we are / I’m a southside baby, see the star from the car”, he raps in his low-key, whispery tone. The contrast between the two videos and their songs is a testament to HOODLUM‘s undeniable ability to tackle an array of production choices. With his hometown of San Antonio on his back, HOODLUM is determined to take his sound to new levels. In the words of Passion of the Weiss“the next big Texas rapper isn’t from Houston”.
