ATL has been churning out stars consistently for the last decade. From staple, hip-hop acts like Outkast, Gucci Mane, and Future to recent superstars like Lil Baby, 21 Savage, and Russ, the music hotbed is known for setting the stage for what’s next to blow. Looking to keep the tradition going, York Records‘ (@yorkrecordsusa) – home of battle rapper turned recording artist Arsonal – backed rap trio FrxxSauce unloads their latest body of work. Titled ‘Real Souf Side,’ the 8-track Quickstrike features the group well-received records for “Push Up,” “Nasty,” and “Kapped Up” as well establishes the group’s prominence in the New Atlanta creative scene.

FrxxSauce on the project: “With every record we create we paint a vivid image of our everyday life. Nothing we say is a facade, only facts. Everything comes from the heart and things we’ve been through. This tape aint nothing but some ramen noodles, government cheese and tap water. Basically this is some raw shit from the souf side of Atlanta.”

U Know” is an island-tinged jam primed for slow winds in dimly lit clubs. “Separated” is a pained song about a necessary romantic split. “Fun Fact,” which features Grammy-nominated rapper Rick Ross, is both a tender request for physical intimacy and an avowal of self-confidence. The Masego-assisted single “My City” remains a standout. A lounge-leaning slice of downtempo soul with touches of jazz, the C Gutta-produced track finds Elhae delivering smooth come-ons to the woman of his desire.

Elhae on his latest release:

“I think the ‘Aura’ series over time has become a bit of an escape for me, where I can let off steam and vent about things I’m going through at that current moment in my life. Much like anyone else, this is just another chapter in my life symbolizing growth and maturity.”
