COMPTON’S NEIGHBORHOOD HOPE DEALER WALLIE THE SENSEI SINGS HIS TRUTH ON NEW SINGLE “HOMI”

Published

on

Compton’s emotive assassin Wallie The Sensei returns with the intense, emotionally complex single “Homi.” “Homi” follows Wallie’s recent “Ghetto Lullaby” and July’s critically acclaimed project, the instant street classic, GOLDEN CHILDListen HERE.

“Homi” is one of the most gripping tracks Wallie has penned to date, exploring the emotional toll that death, crime, and poverty have had on him and his community. “Feel like the tension in my city is so real, it’s like we all in jail and end up getting killed,” he croons over smooth, acoustic guitar. Wallie is equally blunt about his role in the chaos that surrounds him: “Why we kill so much, I just don’t understand/If guns is instruments I’m tryna lead the band.”

“Homi” builds on the momentum of GOLDEN CHILD, a project spearheaded by “03 Flow,” which has amassed more than 5 million views on YouTube. A true labor of love, “03 Flow” pays homage to fellow rapper 03 Greedo who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence. It soon took on a life of its own with radio support and glowing praise from music peers like PnB Rock, industry heavyweights, radio DJs, and more.

Golden Child also includes Wallie’s team-up with Detroit powerhouse 42 Dugg on the remix of “Scandalous.” The two trade bars with ease as Wallie recounts the struggles of success and the haters who would come for his head. With “Homi,” he offers a flip side to the tales spun on GOLDEN CHILDoutlining both the pain that shaped him and his hope for a better future.

MICHAL MICHAL EMBRACES THE PROCESS ON NEW MIXTAPE ‘WHY WOULD I COMPLAIN

Published

Michal Michal embraces the good and bad life presents on his new mixtape, Why Would I
Complain. Released on leap day (Feb. 29), you can listen to the 7-track project HERE available
on all streaming platforms. Featuring previous singles in “Know Me Better,” “Calm B4 the Storm”
with 5heriff and “don’t blame the kids,” fresh-pressed highlights like the grandiose “$ Beers,”
infectiously chill “One Day” and hypnotic “Sneaky Link” continue to showcase Michal’s refined
talent. Meshing sounds found within the discographies of Mac Miller and Trippie Redd, the
Austin emcee lets his signature rasp lead the way for every melody he tears off.

“‘Why Would I Complain’ is like the transition of the old me and the new me, as far as the artistic
version of myself,” Michal says of WWIC. “This is really just the start – a transition into
something different.” Michal’s message and his mindset for the future are simple: “Anyone can
do whatever they want in life. It doesn’t matter if you didn’t go to college, didn’t go to high
school, if you come from poverty or from wealth. Whatever you want to do can be done. And
why not? We only have one life to do it. Life is too short, so why would I complain?”

JAY?DUHHH RELEASES “MIND TRICKS”

Published

on

By

Richmond, Virginia native, Jay?Duhhh has announced the release of her latest single, “Mind Tricks” on Thursday, February 29, 2024 via Money By the Pound Records. “Mind Tricks,” produced by platinum music producer Mex Manny, can be described as carnivalesque whilst addressing the significant mental health issues humans may face navigating early adulthood. The sonic aesthetic of a crazy fun house, along with a maze and  house of mirrors, is interlaced throughout the musical number creating a peculiar and unique vibe.

“I wrote my new single “Mind Tricks” to  empower people to overcome daily obstacles such as their fears, doubts, the opinions of others/ the world, other people’s bad decisions, and the overall negativity that the world can sometimes bring. It’s easy to lose yourself in a world that is full of judgment and constantly moving. Sometimes you need to sit with yourself to realize what YOU need to be able to accomplish everything your heart desires. Life isn’t easy, and there will always be things that try to stop you from what you need to do, but if you stand strong, open your eyes and mind, and  stay true to yourself…. You’ll always win in the end. Never be afraid to Shine your Light. Nothing outside of you has Power over you. What I want people to apprehend from this piece is that Life is anything but easy, but you are anything but weak. Don’t let it Change who  you are.” – Jay?Duhhh
