Ace Hood Announces 2/25 M.I.N.D. EP, Shares New “Glory” Single

Published

on

Since he bought out his major label contract to take control of his art and direction, Ace Hood has tapped into the full potential of his mental, spiritual, and physical power. Today, Ace Hood channels that energy, kicking off the year with the announcement of his upcoming EP, M.I.N.D. (Memories Inside Never Die), along with the release of its new single, “Glory.”

The Olivier Bassil & MakeTheNoises-produced and Holla Fame-engineered “Glory” finds Ace reflecting on the great many obstacles and expectations that stood in the way of the success he was able to achieve, as well as the impediments standing between the Black community and an equitable future: “The blacker the berry, you know ain’t no sort of compassion/Had to study their tactics/We living gods, and they trying to bury our magic/In a devilish fashion,” raps Ace. However, Ace assures listeners that those challenges can be overcome with the focus and dedication he aims to inspire.

“Glory” is the second single to arrive from M.I.N.D., following the glowing, self-assured “Little Light,” released in late 2021. The EP, arriving on February 25thvia Hood Nation/EMPIRE, kicks off what is poised to be a career year in the artist’s independent reign.

Amid a career in which Ace Hood earned gold and platinum plaques, Top 10 albums, and A-list collaborations, Ace Hood solidified his legend as the first rapper from Broward County, FL, to reach national prominence, paving the way for artists like Kodak Black, YNW Melly (about whom Ace Hood narrated a podcast), and more. This new path was not easily forged for Ace, who made immense personal sacrifices to invest in himself while reinventing his artistry. Ace’s journey to inhabit his new self began with his physical and mental health–he devoted himself to training (he started a supplement brand called Ace Blend to help people realize their gains), meditation, family time, and self-love.

Though there were some bumps on his road to self-reliance, Ace always knew he was on the right track. “I am in a space where I’m creating the best music of my life,” says Ace. The success of his 2020 album, Mr. Hood,  and its hit single, “We Ball” (75 million streams), have proven that statement, and this year, he’s on a mission to sustain, even grow, his independent empire.

With M.I.N.D. arriving next month, stay tuned for much more music and mindfulness from Ace Hood in 2022.

Vara Releases New Single “Paranoia”

Florida-based next-gen pop star vara releases new single “Paranoia,” under the guidance of 98 degrees Jeff Timmons. Fresh off the DNA World Tour with the Backstreet Boys, vara has teamed up with Timmons to disrupt the music industry with their style that can be described as an edgy mix of alternative/pop influenced by Billie Eilish and Avril Lavigne.

Paranoia is an extremely personal song that tackles the subject of the struggles of mental health and we wanted to see if you’d be interested in having vara have this much needed conversation during an interview with you.

“Vara carries themself with such maturity, confidence, and poise, and possesses an emotional intelligence that’s quite indescribable,” says Jeff Timmons, who serves as a mentor/manager to vara.

“Vara has everything it takes to tackle the roller coaster ride of the entertainment industry, but it’s the other things they will do that excites me; the impact they will have on others with their music will undoubtedly be incredible, but the way they will empower and inspire others in their generation is something I hope to have the opportunity to witness.”

Putting his hometown on the map with his frank lyricism and heavy Lone Star State drawl, Wacotron is one of Texas’s most exciting rappers. Today, he shares Out The Blue, the highly-anticipated follow-up mixtape to his critically acclaimed 2021 project Smokin Texas. Highlighted by heavy trap production from Southside & 808 Mafia, among others, the 11-track effort establishes Wacotron’s status as the man in his city. He shares harrowing tales about life on the streets of Waco, weaving pearls of street wisdom and sly turns-of-phrase.

Among project highlights are the dark Texas club anthem “Let Em Know,” as well as the heartfelt, guitar-laden “The Blues,” which finds the street veteran taking his sound in a new direction as he reckons with his past. Featuring appearances from Freebandz rapper Doe Boy and Atlanta mainstay Derez D’Shon and additional production from superstar artist/producer MarshmelloOut The Blue is available everywhere via Pick Six Records/808 Mafia.

Along with the new mixtape, Wacotron shares the video for “Game Time,” a highlight from the project produced by Project X of 808 Mafia. On top of a hauntingly hypnotic trap instrumental, Wacotron unleashes bar after bar as he warns his opps not to cross him: “I’m quarterback and I’m picking the blitz up,” he spits. In the DJ Black Messiah-directed video, Wacotron ignores ‘no trespassing’ signs as he proves he runs the streets of his hometown.

With Out The Blue, Wacotron plans to build on the success of his debut 2021 mixtape Smokin’ Texas, which received praise from ComplexHipHopDXDJ Booth, and more. He hasn’t been entirely quiet over the past year, though, as he’s made waves in the rap game with singles like “Raw” and “Free Mason” (each with over 4 million streams on Spotify). The Waco, TX native has also been an ambassador for central Texas rap, working alongside other Waco risers and boosting their careers while he becomes a star in his own right.

With the release of his sophomore project Out The Blue, Wacotron proves he’s an artist to watch in the bustling Texas rap scene. Stay tuned for much more from the young rapper in the near future.
