Kenny Muney Enjoys the View From His Memphis Penthouse in “Rabbit”
Unleashing unbreakable triplet flows over heavy Memphis percussion, Kenny Muney doesn’t need to raise his voice to get his point across. Today, the Paper Route Empire signee shares the video for “Rabbit,” a highlight from his new tape Time Is Muney. Produced by PRE maestro Bandplay, “Rabbit” is an easy-going, yet flex-heavy trap track, as Kenny wraps his unassuming boasts around ethereal synths with his sinuous flows. In the video, Kenny gives a glimpse into his life of luxury, as he counts cash and parties with baddies in his ultra-soft Balenciaga slides.
Released last week, Time Is Muney is an album suited for headphones–the better to be mesmerized by Kenny’s hypnotic flows. Over 15 tracks, Kenny Muney bolsters his braggadocio as he locks his flows onto each booming instrumental with a heat-seeking missile’s precision. The tape is home to recent singles like “Backend Freestyle,” a flex heavy track that allowed Muney to reintroduce himself to fans, both new and old, and “Worthless,” which received a tequila-fueled music video. Time Is Muney features guest appearances from Kenny’s PRE associates Big Moochie Grape and Key Glock, who delivers one of the best verses of his career on “Leeches,” and a guest spot from Dreezy on the romantic “Nobody.” Time Is Muney is available everywhere via Paper Route Empire.
In the run up to Time Is Muney, the follow-up to 2019’s Muney Talk, the Paper Route Empire signee kept himself busy in 2021 by releasing multiple singles, including “Lowkey,” “For Kenny,” “Long Time Coming,” and “Poppin It.” This past July, Paper Route Empire released their first ever compilation mixtape, PAPER ROUTE iLLUMINATi, which heavily featured Young Dolph, Key Glock, and Kenny Muney among other label members. Kenny memorialized Dolph with “Role Model,” a touching tribute to Dolph which racked up over 1.7 million views on YouTube in its first two weeks, and appears on Time Is Muney, as well as the recent Paper Route Empire Presents: Long Live Dolph mixtape.

Asian-American rappers Star2, ChinaTownRunner, and $tupid Young release the new single / video entitled “FWM”. The single precedes Star2 and ChinaTownRunner’s upcoming EP and sets the bar high with haunting cavernous beats and dark melodic flow.
Each of them affirm that they are “about money” in their separate verses and all ask listeners to “come and F*** With Me.” The music video for “FWM” captures Star2, ChinaTownRunner, and $tupid Young in a graffiti-stroked garage full of sports cars and women. Leaning into the sheer magnitude of the track itself, the visuals for “FWM” zero in on each rapper for an intense performance.
Star2 and ChinaTownRunner are preparing to embark on a summer tour with $tupid Young set to appear at multiple dates. Additionally, Star2 and ChinaTownRunner will perform on July 6th in support of the annual Ka-ren Soccer Tournament and Concert in South Dakota.
Star2 is a refugee artist from the Mae La refugee camp in Thailand. Star2’s documentary, RETURN TO KAWTHOOLEI: A Refugee Rapper’s Journey to His Homeland in Burma will be screened at the New Media Film Festival in LA on June 6th. So far, the documentary has been awarded with “Best Short Documentary” at the Malaysian Film Festival, “Best Documentary” at the Busan New Wave Short Film Festival in S. Korea, “Best Web and Media” at the IndieX Film Fest in LA, and “Exceptional Merit in Docu-drama Short & Human Spirit” at the Documentaries Without Borders Film Festival. Star2 returns to Thailand in May for his second trip.
Hollywood, Florida native Ann-Derie presents the official video for “Maximum Capacity”, the new single from I Am Only Human, her forthcoming album which also spawned “Just Us”, produced by Alvin Speights (R.I.P.), the engineer behind tracks for India Arie, TLC, Keith Sweat and many more. Shot in New York City, the “Maximum Capacity” clip comes on the heels of Ann-Derie’s tour of the East Coast (watch her interview with 99JAMZ). “Maximum Capacity” is out now on Dxnna Music Group.
