VAN BUREN RECORDS Returns For “CASH RULES”
The talented collective of bars-focused rappers from Brockton, MA, Van Buren Records have just shared their latest single, “CASH RULES.” On the AZIZTHESHAKE produced track, rappers Luke Bar$, SAINT LYOR, FELIX!, Jiles, Andrew Regis, and Meech BOLD take turns delivering colorful bars while flexing their own unique flows, each delivered with style, precision, and grit. “CASH RULES” is VB’s first new offering since the release of their critically acclaimed debut album, Bad For Press earlier this year.
With a name inspired by a fictitious street gang from an episode of “Seinfeld,” Van Buren Records is a 13 member collective comprised of rappers FELIX!, Luke Bar$, Jiles, SAINT LYOR, Meech BOLD, Invada, and producer/emcee multi-hyphenate, Andrew Regis. Regis is joined by fellow producers Ricky Felix and Kiron Akil, and engineer, R. Louie. The crew is rounded out by the designer, Moses Besong, and creative directors, Shelby Narcisse and E. Each member of the group plays an integral role in the collaborative process and each emcee has their own unique voice, style, and identity. Together, Van Buren Records are an eclectic group with an original sound, best exemplified on their recent singles “MEDIC,”“BRAINDEAD” and “RELAX”.
Hailing from Brockton, Massachusetts, the first majority Black city in New England, Van Buren Records boasts a cohesive sound that has catalyzed mosh pits across their home state and beyond, igniting a new phase in the greater Boston area Hip Hop renaissance and creative community at large. Receiving critical praise from Pigeons & Planes (Best New Artists of April), NPR (“Favorite Albums Of 2021” list), Lyrical Lemonade, UPROXX, and others, Van Buren Records released their debut album, Bad For Press in April of 2021 and plans to release even more music soon.

Upping the ante, NC representative Big YBA unloads the Deluxe edition of his most recent album the Definition of Living. Featuring five new tracks including “New York,” “For Your Love,” “Rap Assassin,” “Rebellious,” and “Cut ‘Em Off,” which was premiered by way of popular live performance platform Off The Curb, the enhanced body of work accents the original flawlessly.
Three months removed from his “Swag Surfin'” sampling collaboration “Hypnotic” featuring Rich The Kid signee SetitOff83 and the strategic seeding of LP standouts “30, “Rookie, “Lord Forgive Me,” “Venting Session,” “Mercy,” and “DOA,” the now 20 track collection of songs includes a lone guest appearance from GetRichZay while production duties are handled by Jozzex, KH Beatz, Maineestreamm, Prod No Heart, and Trippy XVI.
Raised in Durham, Big YBA is rapidly emerging as one of the most electrifying young artists from the Carolinas. With a brand built on authenticity, his versatility and melodic sound have allowed him to break through the industry release after release. Determined to experience success outside of his hometown, he views his personal and professional growth as motivation for listeners with similar ambitions.
