Video Spotlight: @FmbDz1 ‘s Video For “Pressure” Is Finally Here

Published

on

FMB DZ’s latest project The Gift was the right way to wrap up 2017; he gifted us a helping of his finest work today, helping to stretch the boundaries of trap music in regards to pacing and delivery. One of the project’s strong points was “Pressure,” a murky track that evokes the feeling that is its title. For all of the anxiousness that it bought, thanks to the expeditiously-paced beat that felt as prickly as it did inviting, it showcased the best of DZ’s wordplay and one-of-a-kind flow. It may have taken awhile, but we finally get the accompanying visual to the standout track.

What makes this video, shot by Jerry PHD, so unique is that it draws on these feelings of pressure and despair to craft a visual that initially looks simplistic, but ultimately evokes a wide range of emotion. DZ relaxes with a friend and switches between standard rapping, brandishing a weapon, and a host of other casual activities. What brings out the emotion and creativity of the visual is the camera work; always frenetic and switching. The addition of a drab color pattern that drains out most of the happier colors in the visual spectrum really brings about the pressure (pun intended).

Take a look at the visual for “Pressure” below.
