TX newcomer Syo Releases New ‘Senioritis’ EP

Syo

Do you need a break from the norm?? If so, Alief, TX’s own Syo’s new EP Senioritis is perfect for you. The 6 track project is jam-packed with soulful beats, impressive lyrics, and down-to-earth vibes. With Erykah Badu & Brent Faiyaz serving as obvious inspirations, the project will fit anyone who is a fan of either artist. Neo-soul is not the most popular genre, but it may be one of the most refreshing. Syo mentioned that “By the time I started to make music, I couldn’t really sing, so I would always make the melody and have someone else sing while I perfected my craft of rapping. But now that I’ve taught myself to sing, I guess you can say I’m returning to my roots.”

The album features some true spoken word elements and other passionate R&B flows. His family did not like rap growing up, but he still fell in love with the genre. College was a big theme of the project, which should be relatable to many young adults across the country. The whole EP is heat, but “Sophomore Kid” is a stand-out. Syo looks forward to helping keep his focus on the art and looks to become one of the greatest performers we have.
