Toronto’s Jon Vinyl Releases “Told You”

Complete with sparkling melodic percussion, buzzing guitar synths, and Vinyl’s soaring vocals, “Told You” takes listeners on an emotive relationship journey that wavers through love and unbearable hardship, unravelling as a beautiful mess. With sonic production by Kevin Efoko (WizKid, Tobi and Loony), Shanks (Sir and Smokepurpp), and Ty Leon, along with music video direction by Alimzhan Sabir and production by Pique, the brand-new track and music video both underscore Vinyl’s songwriting prowess and talent at embodying emotion.
“The ideation of ‘Told You’ sparked during a tough break up,” says Vinyl. “My significant other and I weren’t on the best terms, ultimately leading to a huge lack of communication in our relationship. I was in this hopeful headspace where I felt like I needed to let her know that she is my person and that we can get through this, which wasn’t easy. Feeling quite helpless, I turned to what I know – the pen and paper – to create this song which encapsulates all the things I was having trouble expressing to her back then.”
Following the debut of “Told You,” Vinyl is anticipated to release his eagerly awaited project. Fans can keep up with the latest news on Jon Vinyl releases, merchandise and more via Instagram or www.jonvinyl.com.
