Impressing with his raw rhyme skills and Texas-sized charisma, That Mexican OT is having a breakout year. The Bay City, Texas native continues his red hot summer, teaming up with fellow Texas native Maxo Kream to release the music video for Opp Or 2.” A creeping slice of Texas trap, produced by JonnyshipesFreek van WorkumItsNicklus, and Young Hollywood, “Opp Or 2” brings out best in both Lone Star State slick talker, as OT rolls his r’s with aplomb and Maxo rocks his sturdy duple meter flow. In the video, directed by D Green Filmz, OT and Maxo jump into the ring, masking up to become the fiercest Lucha Libre wrestlers on either side of the Rio Grande. The two Houston-area heavyweights show off some impressive high-flying moves, as they earn their championship belt.

“Opp Or 2” is a highlight from OT’s brand new album Lonestar Luchador, recently acclaimed by Pitchfork (7.5). A concept album that draws parallels between the rap game and the high-flying world of Mexican wrestling, Lonestar Luchador is an ambitious effort that incorporates a world of wide-ranging influences and sharp pop cultural references into OT’s Texas-fried sound. Home to OT’s Billboard Hot 100 hitJohnny Dang,” which has generated over 67 million streams across platform including 8 million just last week, plus additional highlights like the bi-lingual banger “Barrio” ft. The Paul Wall and Drodi-featuring song has spent weeks in the top ten of Spotify’s U.S. Viral 50 chart, and just this week, hit a new #79peak on theBillboard Hot 100 chart. “Johnny Dang” also currently sits at No. 19 on Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs and at No. 27 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. OT’s “From The Ranch” version of “Johnny Dang” recently caught viral traction on Twitter, inspiring “From The Block” filmmaker AZae to bring OT back for a second “From The Ranch,” this time for a performance of “Cowboy Killer.”

Last week, That Mexican OT announced the Lonestar Luchador Tour.” Commencing on September 10th in Denver, CO, the “Lonestar Luchador Tour” criss-crosses the country for 19 dates, stopping in New York (S.O.B.’s), Atlanta (Vinyl), and Los Angeles (The Echo) before concluding in Oakland on October 4th. Kyla Imani Enlists KARRAHBOOO For New Single “In The Hills”

Published

KARRAHBOOO makes her return to hip-hop with “In The Hills,” a fresh collaboration with rising star Kyla Imani. This marks KARRAHBOOO’s first release since her split from Lil Yachty’s group, Concrete Boys, in July. The fallout sparked a public exchange of insults between the two, including a fiery rant from Lil Yachty on his birthday. KARRAHBOOO, however, had the last word when she teased new music in an Instagram Live session in September.

“In The Hills” blends Kyla Imani’s fun and soulful energy with KARRAHBOOO’s sharp lyricism and undeniable charisma. Set against the backdrop of California’s iconic Hollywood Hills, the pair throw a carefree party, cruising in a pink, vintage Mustang while singing about their dreams and ambitions. The chemistry between the two artists was key for Kyla, who spoke on their creative synergy.

“As a New York City girl living in L.A., I wanted to share stories that captured the vibes up in the hills. Collaborating with KARRAHBOOO was important because, though we’re different, we both have something to prove and push boundaries,” said Kyla. “‘In The Hills’ is about embracing life’s adventures and reaching new heights, something everyone can relate to.”

Kyla Imani first gained attention in 2014 with cover songs but made a significant breakthrough in 2021 with her viral rendition of Mooski’s “Track Star.” Her 2019 tour with DDG and hits like “These Boys Ain’t It” have cemented her as a voice for Generation Z, her rich vocals resonating with a new wave of young women. This collaboration follows her summer tracks “Chosen” and “Crush,” continuing her upward trajectory.

“In The Hills” is just the beginning, according to Kyla. “This isn’t just a song; it’s a preview of a powerful fourth quarter, setting the stage for an exciting 2025,” she said in a recent press release.

Fans won’t have to wait long to see more of KARRAHBOOO either. She’s set to join Mariah The Scientist and Latto on the “Sugar Honey Iced Tea” tour later this month.
