When detailing how the record came about, RIKKI states:
“I flew to Vegas for the first time to work with Phil Ivey and his team. Ivey and Chris Gotti had Lazr pull up to the studio to help me with writing some records. He and I hung out and got to know each other for a while, and he came to the conclusion that I was stingy!! Not really focused on dating unless it’s worthwhile. Next thing I knew, he freestyled an entire song about it and I couldn’t relate more! It is one of my favorite songs to this day.”
RIKKI is a singer/songwriter, actress, and designer based out of New Rochelle, New York. From musical theater, to hip hop and R&B, RIKKI has a unique way of expressing her vulnerability and journey of self love in a sense of truth that you can’t help but relate to. RIKKI released her first song in 2015, “Again,” a rendition of Fetty Wap‘s “Again,” through digital distribution platform Add Ventures Music. She directed and edited her very first music video and reached over 500K+ views on VEVO.
A few singles later, RIKKI released her debut EP, First Time Lover. Through the 7 songs on this project, RIKKI expressed the hardships of falling in love for the first time. After a few years of going on the road as an independent artist, RIKKI joined forces with reputable music powerhouse Murder Inc., with whom she released the single “Heartbreaker,” produced by Irv Gotti and Chink Santana. The visuals for both the original and the remix, which featured Ja Rule, accumulated over 6M+ views via YouTube. RIKKI then went on to drop “Is It Over?,” featuring MoneyBagg Yo; the music video currently has 3M+ views.
Early 2022, after her run with Murder Inc., she made her return as an independent artist with “No Lz.” Radio stations across the country, including Z100, Power 105.1, and 102.7 KIIS-FM, have been introducing RIKKI as one of their favorite new artists. Though her music career has now taken center stage, RIKKI is most notably known for starring in the XXXtentacion “Moonlight” inspired episode of American drama anthology television series “Tales.” In the world of fashion, RIKKI has already begun to pick up steam by launching her own line of crochet clothing called Rikochet! and partnering with fashion staple Steve Madden.
