PaperRoute Woo Tees Off in “Different Channel” Video

Published

on

Collecting bag after bag without lifting a finger, PaperRoute Woo makes his bossed up lifestyle look as easy as a hole-in-one. Returning to show he can shine just as bright on his own, Woo shares the video for “Different Channel.” The track finds Woo ready to flip the switch, putting the spoils from a fast-paced, high-risk life in the streets to work while he kicks back and reaps the benefits: “Make her count up plenty paper/I stay in the country club with nothing but retired neighbors.”

The video for “Different Channel,” which closely follows the recent cut for “Team Player,” finds a past version of Woo sitting on the couch of a dimly lit living room, surrounded by ashtrays packed with Black & Mild tips and cigarette butts, watching TV. As Woo sounds off on the woes of the trap, he does a double take when he sees himself on TV, tearing up the golf course with the player ways of Tiger Woods. Soon, Woo’s not just looking at a window into his future, he immerses himself in it until it becomes his reality.

“Different Channel” is the latest video from BOYZ IN THE HOOD, the 2022 collaborative project between Woo and fellow PRE hotshot SNUPE BANDZ. SNUPE and Woo’s Southern synergy is felt throughout the 15 tracks on BOYZ N THE HOOD, even as each artist’s individual strengths shine through brilliantly. On “When I’m Bored,” Woo’s flex-heavy ferocity emerges in rare form, while SNUPE dazzles with his head-turning hooks and clever rhymes on standouts like “Dam Fool.” With high-energy features from Arkansas rapper Bankroll Freddie and the crunkstar himself, Duke DeuceBOYZ N THE HOOD continues a new era of dominance for Paper Route Empire.

SNUPE BANDZ and PaperRoute Woo have a long history of collaborations, dating back to 2020’s “In My Bag” and continuing through 2021’s “Pop Out,” which drew 1.9 million YouTube views. Both SNUPE and Woo joined their mentor Young Dolph on “Nothing To Me,” a standout single from the 2021 PAPER ROUTE iLLUMINATi mixtape, generating over 9.6 million views, and they later took the stage in remembrance of their role model during a tribute set at Rolling Loud California 2021. The two Memphis natives made memorable appearances on Paper Route Empire Presents: Long Live Dolph, the 2022 PRE compilation tape: SNUPE shined on his solo showcase “I Know Why,” and connected with Joddy Badass for the sensual “I Like,” while Woo flashed his mastery of flow in “Fully Equipt.”

Stay tuned for more from Woo, SNUPE, and Paper Route Empire as the year progresses.
