Music To Look Forward To Next Week

Published

on

Thus far, there are only two huge releases to prep for this week. You never know in the age of the surprise album, but here’s what is on track to come out thus far.

Iridescence by Brockhampton – September 21

Brockhampton’s went through some shit lately because of Ameer Vann and the domestic abuse allegations placed against him. But besides the negative energy brought to them because of the debacle, the group’s been on the backburner for quite a while. Iridescence looks to change that, bringing the world something new since last year’s Saturation 3.

Tha Carter 5 by Lil Wayne – September 21

Yes, you read that headline right. Lil Wayne’s fifth installment of Tha Carter series finally comes out this Friday. The legal situation with Birdman has finally been wrapped up. Wayne can focus on the music that he’s been stowing away for years. If Swizz Beatz’s “P.O.M.S. (Pistol On My Side)” is any indicator, it looks like Wayne hasn’t missed a step either.

Terell Online Releases New Video “What You On”

Published

on

After connecting with Curren$y Matching Rolexes instrumentalist and fellow VA representative Kino Beats for “It Is What It Is,” Westcoast residing wordsmith Terell Online gives his Jimmy Dukes’ (LOX, Fabolous, Havoc, etc.) produced Came A Long Way standout “What You On” the small screen treatment. Directed by Jorge Ayala, the HD clip for the easy listening track finds Rell effortlessly sweet talking his way into a love interest’s heart with the help of a luxury sports car and a pier view property.

Detailing the mood he wanted to convey with this particular song, the San Deigo-based spitter states: “What you on is one of those b-side cuts you can listen to sliding around solo or with your lady riding shotgun. It’s soft enough for women to appreciate, but hard-hitting enough for fellas to nod their heads to. It’s a vibe.”

Terell Online started his musical journey in Virginia and overcame the obstacles that would usually stand in the way of an independent artist and his fans. Rell struggled with learning disabilities, faced homelessness, and even had trouble with law enforcement as a youth. Despite his circumstances, he learned how to play various musical instruments and create art that accurately reflects his emotions.

For the past few years, he’s worked tirelessly to solidify his niche sound enriched with intellectual prowess and heartwarming melodies that touch several genres. Following the success of his featured verse on Pusha T stamped rap act M Watts’ “They Ain’t Ready (ft. Young Money Yawn)” as well as solo singles “Sedated” and “Master P,” Rell has shared stages with Kirko Bangz, Travis Porter, and most recently Phora.

Anchored by his lifestyle and community outreach brand ‘The Red Cup Gang,’ most known for its well-crafted merchandise and famous catchphrase “We hang, we don’t bang…,” in 2021 Rell released his COVID-19-centered project The Lost Summer, which was accompanied by a multi-city tour and documentary of the same name.
