Music To Look Forward To Next Week

Published

on

Thus far, there are only two huge releases to prep for this week. You never know in the age of the surprise album, but here’s what is on track to come out thus far.

Iridescence by Brockhampton – September 21

Brockhampton’s went through some shit lately because of Ameer Vann and the domestic abuse allegations placed against him. But besides the negative energy brought to them because of the debacle, the group’s been on the backburner for quite a while. Iridescence looks to change that, bringing the world something new since last year’s Saturation 3.

Tha Carter 5 by Lil Wayne – September 21

Yes, you read that headline right. Lil Wayne’s fifth installment of Tha Carter series finally comes out this Friday. The legal situation with Birdman has finally been wrapped up. Wayne can focus on the music that he’s been stowing away for years. If Swizz Beatz’s “P.O.M.S. (Pistol On My Side)” is any indicator, it looks like Wayne hasn’t missed a step either.

JAY WHEELER SHARES NEW SINGLE/VIDEO “S.O.S.”

Jay Wheeler says he is ready to continue surprising his audience in the new year with new projects, new music, and his first world tour. He has officially announced the release of S.O.S., his first track and music video of 2023, now available on all digital platforms starting today, Friday February 3.

Maintaining his distinctive romantic sound, S.O.S. is a distress call. It tells the story of a love that has ended, but one of the lovers is still suffering, missing the other, remembering the good times, and pining for another chance. With his record label, Dynamic Records and Flow Music, Wheeler has produced a track influenced by music of the 80s, creating a modern and refreshing melody that will surely delight his followers yet never straying far from the romantic style he is known for.

“I’m very happy with the direction my career is taking, and I was dying to release new music and little by little show the people all the new things that are coming. This song is part of that, we don’t stop for even a second. S.O.S. is a track that people will enjoy because it’s part of my essence and what my fans expect. It’s romantic, but danceable. I’m maintaining my style, but also combining a retro sound with modern elements, and I love the video. I hope people enjoy it and sing along with it.”, says Wheeler.

Fans can also enjoy the music video for S.O.S., shot in Miami, Florida and directed by José Sagaro of Filmheads.

Jay Wheeler finds himself in one of the sweetest moments of his career following a hugely successful 2022 with the release of Emociones, his biggest record yet as well as his four sold-out shows at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico. He is now preparing for his first world tour with dates in the United States, Latin America, and Europe starting on Valentine’s Day with a much-anticipated show in Orlando, Florida.

“I’m delighted with the support for my Emociones World Tour. Pre-sales of tickets are going extremely well. As a matter of fact, we’ve had to add a date at the Movistar Arena in Chile because the first show immediately sold out. We’re ready for this experience and hoping to stir many emotions in every show. I’m blessed to find myself in this position”, expressed Wheeler.

After “Don’t Run,” Corio Releases “Emotions”

Published

on

Keeping the momentum flowing following the release of his well-received music video for “Don’t Run,” Lexington’s most notable rising star Corio delivers the Claudio “2x” Clarke-produced cut “Emotions.” Staying on-brand, the interpersonal track finds the “Phone Off” composer getting super transparent about how he feels and what he expects out of his current relationship.

Corio, formerly known as YNL Capone, hails from Kentucky’s second-largest city Lexington. Over the past few years, he’s blessed his growing fanbase with projects like ‘The Let Go,’ ’10 Hours,’ ‘Amoré’, and ‘First Class,’ which sees six equally dope cuts from the genre-bending artist. He’s also delivered the notable singles “Go Harder” and “Vietnam.” As Corio, fans can look for more of his infectious harmonies evident on his most recent EP, Last Week In LA.

It’s not so often in this current climate that we are blessed with much musical talent that comes out of the Bluegrass state. With the success of Louisville megastars Bryson Tiller, Jack Harlow, and EST Gee, they have been bringing good energy to the area and are inspiring plenty of local rising stars. That said, Corio is coming for his spot in the game and has been showing some very promising signs of potential very early on in his musical career.

As of late, Corio has been closely working with DJ Corbett, the multi-Grammy-winning producer out of Northern KY, assuring that his sound will be developed to its full capacity. Corio writes about his life and past events with great visualization through lyrics and a smooth cadence with calm delivery.

In addition to that, Corio uses the clash of such a soothing vocal on uptempo beats to wow us with his creativity. Hit the play below, and watch his Brandon Lopez-directed visual for “Don’t Run,” here.
