Key Glock Has Got It Since Birth, Celebrates His 26th with “Chromosomes” Video

Published

on

Evolving from a promising upstart to a hero in the Memphis streets, Key Glock has a genetic predisposition for success. Celebrating his 26th birthday (yesterday, August 3rd) and embracing his role as a Paper Route Empire don, Glock shares Chromosomes,” his latest music video. Produced by PRE’s sound architect Bandplay, who layers triumphant horns and playful pianos over thumping Tennessee-style percussion, Glock gleefully counts his O’s and his bands, as he has every day since he came into the world flexin’ in 1997: “Five, six bracelets on my wrist, look like a pot of gold/Got money, money, money, money runnin’ through my chromosomes.” The video for “Chromosomes” is a neat encapsulation of Glock’s style and sense of humor, as he presides over a vehicle show in his hometown, complete with freewheeling dirtbikes and souped-up muscle cars, basks in the attention of beautiful women, and plays a custom Key Glock-style version of the board game Operation.

“Chromosomes” is the latest video from Glockoma 2the rapper’s 2023 album, which recently expanded with Glockoma 2 (Deluxe). Recently certified GOLD by the RIAA, Glockoma 2 finds the Memphis playmaker at the top of his game, making it look easy to shoulder a 23-track load without any features, as usual. The album spent 8 weeks on the Billboard 200, peaking at #13, and is home to hits like From Nothing,” Dirt, and most recently Presidential Rolex.” Glockoma 2 (Deluxe) follows in the wake of the “SiriusXM’s Hip-Hop Nation Presents: Key Glock – Glockoma Tour,” featuring support from NC riser TiaCorine, Glock’s Paper Route Empire brethren Kenny Muney and Jay Fizzle, and Dallas rapper BigXThaPlug. The “Glockoma Tour” criss-crossed the country with dozens of sold out dates.

Now with over 10 million monthly listeners on Spotify and 59k tickets sold in 2023 alone, Key Glock is on the brink of taking his no-holds-barred Memphis sound to the mainstream. Stay tuned…#PRE5L.
