Get To Know California’s Next Big R&B Artist: Chima Doir

Published

on

We recently sat down with Chima Dior, who is about to release his second EP, “Still Jaded Part Two.” The Oakland, CA native is currently working and living out of LA and has been in the industry since 2018, when he recorded his first single, “1995” on SoundCloud. His R&B style is typically mixed with Trap soul as well as infusing other genres from time to time. He loves being a versatile artist and hopes to be known for that. Chima Dior first started dabbling in music in high school, and later found it again and was serious about it in college. “When I left for college at the University of Oregon I was depressed and didn’t really want to be there, but I got a job at the radio station on campus which then helped me branch into doing music and taking it seriously.” Chima Dior has always had a music influence of some kind, as both of his parents were very into music and they both inspire him as well as the rest of his family. The California superstar has many goals that he hopes to achieve within his music career. He goes on to mention “I honestly just want to be able to make timeless music that last forever and leave my art imprint on the game. I don’t really care much for fame or awards. Just want my family to be financially set and my art to last forever. That’s why I follow artist like Frank Ocean and Bryson Tiller, they kind of have that mindset and mentality especially when it comes to their art.” After this EP is released, Chima Dior plans on creating a full-length debut album and hopes to partner with a major label to release it. His latest EP ‘Still Jaded Part Two’ is out now so be sure to check it out if you haven’t yet!
