East Oakland native King Tahoe releases electrifying visual for “Tell Me” with RnBAaron and Yasi

Published

on

East Oakland native King Tahoe released his seductive and electrifying single “Tell Me” featuring RnBAaron and Yasii where he paints the picture of a passionate and pleasurable rendezvous between him and his lover. The song is a catchy tune that keeps audiences entertained throughout the entire record, and showcases Tahoe’s skills as an artist.

The independent artist in his own words describes the song as being all about sensuality but is clear to emphasize that it is not without overwhelming consent which is something that plays into the song’s title. “I’m huge on consent, so if my partner wants me, I need them to tell me,” he explained in a recent interview. Even with the risque subject matter of the song, it is still done in a way that listeners can hear and feel the admiration, respect and love that King Tahoe strives to keep within his music. “Whether I’m singing about poverty in my city, sex on the beach, or my many insecurities it all comes back to the love.”

When asked about one reason he’s passionate about music and what inspires him, King Tahoe says, “I’m passionate about music because of the effect it has on the world. Humans, animals, plants, all react to music. It’s beautiful.”

“The greats inspire me,” he continued. “There will never be another Drake or Michael Jackson but that’s cool because they weren’t trying to be another “whoever” they were attempting to be the best version of themselves. I’m that caliber of artist though (gotta say it until they believe it).”

This conscious and intentional choice to approach his artistry in this way will be what has listeners scrambling to add the melodic “Tell Me” to their after-hours playlist. This latest single is the first of many that the 27-year old artist has planned to release to heat up this summer. King Tahoe is sure to impress this year and has a lot more to be on the lookout for.

DuPont Brass Brings In the Holidays With ‘A DuPont Holiday’ EP

Published

DuPont Brass deliver their latest body of work ‘A DuPont Holiday’ featuring the lead single “Holidaze.” Paying homage to the season that was the foundation for their genesis, eleven years later the DC-based eclectic ensemble revisits this special time with an updated roster and mature sound developed throughout hundreds of performances and four recordings. ‘A DuPont Holiday’ features new music and electrifying arrangements of holiday classics held close to the heart.

“We’ve been talking about doing another holiday record for years now. This year it all finally lined up. The EP is not just a tribute to our beginnings, but to our fans who have been with us since the start,” shares the group in a press statement to Medium Creative Agency.

Coining Eclectic Soul, which mixes the genres of Jazz, Hip-Hop, and R&B, DuPont Brass is a brass-driven supergroup. Birthed by five music majors from Howard University trying to raise money for tuition during the Christmas season, they’ve grown into a 9-piece ensemble consisting of brass, a rhythm section, and vocalists. Gaining popularity from playing at local Metro stations, they began to professionally play for weddings, banquets, and other private events.

Thanks to the foundation laid in their earlier years, the collective has had the opportunity to perform in conjunction with the D.C. Jazz Festival, The Washington Performing Arts Society, TKC’s Millennium Stage, and The National Cannabis Festival. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, last year they made their local television debut by way of the PBS broadcast show “DMV The Beat” on WHUT.

250z

Up-and-coming artist 250z (@Official250z) is currently causing ripples throughout the music scene with his remarkable fusion of trap and R&B, coupled with an unyielding commitment to staying true to himself. Fuelled by a lifetime of musical immersion and driven by a desire to craft something novel and inventive, 250z is embarking on his own unique trajectory within the industry, crafting a sound that is unmistakably his own. The recently unveiled project, titled ‘Free Think,’ serves as a prime example of his musical prowess, spotlighting his creativity across the span of its captivating 10-track EP.

Characterizing his musical style as “exceedingly melodious with a twist of trap,” 250z is on a mission to usher in a fresh brand of trap and R&B to the forefront of the music scene. He attests that his influences, including luminaries like Chris Brown, Future, James Fauntleroy, and numerous others, have significantly shaped not only his sonic identity but also the sonic landscape of his latest album.

250z’s creative process showcases an intriguing duality. On certain occasions, he plunges into introspection, composing lyrics well into the night, which yields emotionally evocative tracks such as “Be With You?” Conversely, he readily embraces spontaneity, allowing the rhythm to steer his creative vision, resulting in infectious rhythms exemplified by tracks like “Big Smoove.” Irrespective of his approach, emotions and ideas synergize seamlessly, giving rise to compositions that eloquently capture the core of 250z’s artistic expression.

As a burgeoning artist, 250z grapples with the challenge of maintaining his focus both within and beyond the confines of the studio. To surmount this hurdle, he upholds an unwavering consistency, dedicating himself to his craft each and every day.

“I remain immersed in music without granting myself any days off, even when I’m not stationed in the studio,” he explains. “I engage in songwriting, peruse interviews, and draw inspiration from live performances.”

Looking ahead, 250z’s aspirations are unequivocal: foster a devoted fan base and cultivate a distinct brand name and auditory identity within the music industry. Eschewing the confines of a specific message, he allows his music to eloquently speak for itself, affording listeners the autonomy to decipher its meaning and establish their personal connection with each composition.
