Bay Area Spotlight: @DerekPopeMusic And @LarryJuneTFM Drop An Otherworldly Banger With “Too Plugged”

Published

on

With the Bay Area bounce dominating the releases of much of the music coming from the area, other types of production don’t get as much exposure as they should. On Derek Pope’s new single “Too Plugged,” the vocalist uses ambitious production to create a larger-than-life sound that features a scene-stealing contribution from fellow Bay Area-native Larry June.

Derek Pope’s new track is an odd beast. For what it lacks in traditional bass and strong structure, it makes up for in pure zaniness. He utilized his unique voice to full effect, making an earworm of a verse even if it is a little loud. He sets the stage for June’s unique flow and voice that make each guest outing of his easily distinguishable.
