DUSTY LOCANE Sends A Message with ‘CATCH DA FLU’ EP

Published

on

DUSTY LOCANE took the Five Boroughs by storm with his rumbling bass delivery and merciless rhymes. Capping off a torrent of activity from the Canarsie native, DUSTY shares CATCH DA FLU, a purposeful and powerful six-track EP. CATCH DA FLU arrives as DUSTY turns himself into the authorities, and the EP vibrates with the intensity of a rising artist making the most of his freedom. Featuring the breathless flows and gravelly melodies that made DUSTY one of Brooklyn’s biggest stars, CATCH DA FLU (named after DUSTY’s home borough of Canarsie, or Da Flu, and his “FLU GANG,” which he introduced in a recent song) is blessed with a heightened lyrical clarity, as DUSTY processes his feelings and flexes his muscles. CATCH DA FLU is available on all platforms via EMPIRE.

DUSTY speaks on his issues with the determined opening track “TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS,” as he makes clear that he values loyalty above all else, and spits cold hard facts about his status as one of the hottest rappers in the city: “I went from nothin in my bank account to $40k for a show/And  it’s 25 for the feature/Send my demons like I’m grim reaper/I was the one makin’ all the plays, y’all n****s stuck in the bleachers.” He concludes the song with a statement of faith in his 95MM associates, who he knows will hold it down while he’s away. The six-track effort includes additional highlights including the wavering and infectious “NO VACCINE,” as DUSTY promises that there’s nothing that can stop his FLU GANG, and the contemplative “MY WAY,” in which DUSTY channels another NYC native icon and promises that DUSTY’s current situation won’t stop him from lifting his friends and family out of poverty.

CATCH DA FLU arrives in the wake of NIGHTMARE ON DA FIFTH, a sinister project that dropped on Halloween. The new tape continues to cement the Canarsie native’s chokehold on the Brooklyn drill scene, while also taking the time to showcase the talents of DUSTY’s 95MM crew, including 3KizzyKajun Waters, who recently teamed with DUSTY for the new banger “Chevelle,” SFIV5Stelly Hundo, and OMB Jay Dee. Home to highlights like PRESSURE” and FLU GANG,” and the buzzing single ROLANDO 2 (Catch The Rain)” (1.1 million views in 2 weeks), NIGHTMARE ON DA FIFTH is available everywhere via EMPIRE.

NIGHTMARE ON DA FIFTH was the latest rung in DUSTY LOCANE’s ladder to stardom. He recently teamed up with his EMPIRE associates Rah Swish, OnPointLikeOP, and Ron Suno for the fierce SAY DAT EP,  home to peerless posse cuts like BUST DOWN” (1.2 million views) and “ANGELS & DEMONS” (1.1 million views). Earlier in the year, DUSTY dropped the ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN EP, which collected each installment of DUSTY, “ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN ”  singles, including the recent “ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN Pt. 3 (BEEN ROLLIN),” it’s TikTok-viral predecessor, and the GOLD certified original. The EP also featured his second-ever single, “Rolando (Caught In The Rain),” which generated hundreds of millions of streams across platforms.

Though he’s stepping away from the game for a while, DUSTY doesn’t see his situation as a setback–he’ll be back soon enough, focused and stronger than ever, as he continues his mission to elevate to A-List status.

“WHAT DON’T KILL ME MAKES ME 95 TIMES STRONGER,” said DUSTY on Instagram. “TO ALL MY REAL SUPPORTERS AND FANS ITS MORE ON DA WAY VERY SOON
