AFTER REACHING NO.1 WITH “GYALIS,” CAPELLA GREY RECRUITS NIJA FOR NEW SINGLE

Published

on

Bronx R&B sensation Capella Grey returns with a captivating new single called “Confujawn.” The intoxicating R&B anthem features breakout artist Nija, who showcases her trademark sultry vocals. Grey, who previously bent the ears of fans around the world with the player’s anthem “Gyalis,” shows a more introspective, vulnerable side on “Confujawn.” Listen HERE and watch a stylish, yet intimate video HERE.

The rich melodies and sensual vocals of “Confujawn prove Grey has songs for everyone. If “Gyalis” was a take-no-prisoners club anthem, “Confujawn finds the rising star showing a mature approach to a rocky relationship. “Like what we doing, no more games,” Grey croons over a plucky guitar line and boom-bap drums. “We’re getting older, I told you no more looking over my shoulder.” The track’s video opens with a frank conversation between Grey and Nija about the way they relate to one another. They eventually decide to make the most of a long night out in Los Angeles, which is captured in moody, stylish lighting while they trade verses.

Each of the artists has been on the rise over the past few years. Nija has proven herself an accomplished songwriter and an emotionally affecting singer nominated for three Grammy’s. . Since kicking off her career in 2017, she’s written for Cardi B, Summer Walker etc etc , and most recently Megan Thee Stallion and Dua Lipa’s new single “Sweetest Pie.” ….. Now at 24, she’s come into her own as a solo artist with her acclaimed debut EP, January’s Don’t Say I Didn’t Warn You

Grey, for his part, has created a fresh, yet nostalgic R&B sound that invites listeners across generations. With the runaway success surrounding “Gyalis” — over 300 million combined streams, No. 1 at Urban Radio, No. 38 on the Billboard Hot 100 — it would be an obvious move to double down on that formula. However, Grey isn’t your typical artist. With “Confujawn,” he has created a song as instantly catchy as “Gyalis,” but from a completely different angle.

Though he’s newly signed to Capitol, the New Yorker has been establishing himself as a singer, songwriter, and star the past few years. With “Gyalis” and “Confujawn,” those days of relentless grind as a cab driver are starting to feel like a distant memory. Grey hit No. 2 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart, scored BET’s Amplified Artist of the Month in December, and also made it onto Billboard’s 15 Hip-Hop and R&B Artists to Watch in 2022 list. Success isn’t easy to come by, but now that Grey is here, he’s showcasing the many ways he can craft a winning single while working on his debut project set to release soon.

Lu’ (@ottawasveryown) is back with another one! He has been shaking things up in the music scene since his ground-breaking debut “FEVA,” released earlier in February this year. Now, he returns with another highly-anticipated single, “Over,” out now. This offering is accompanied with a music video & solidifies Lu’s mark in the music game with his captivating storytelling and infectious sound.

“Over” is another compelling feel good single that highlights Lu’s artistic identity and capability. “Over evokes pure enjoyment and immaculate summer vibes,” he says. He invites listeners into an irresistible musical experience through the Afrobeats sound. Drawing inspiration from English and French-speaking artists, as well as Congolese artists, he sets himself apart from the industry as a multilingual artist. The accompanying music video was shot in Lagos, Nigeria and offers a setting of African greatness, luxury, and an overall great time.

Originally hailing from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and now making waves in Phoenix, Arizona, Lu’ is a renowned Arizona Cardinals linebacker who made his musical debut earlier this year with his debut single, “FEVA.” Fighting the notion of “shut up and dribble,” Lu’ has shown that he’s far more multifaceted than just an average athlete. He shares, “The narrative of ‘shut up and dribble’ is one I’ve fought internally for a very long time. I want my audience to grasp how passionate I am about chasing my wildest dreams. You can’t let another person tell you, your dreams are too far unattainable.” Lu’ has been able to perfectly parallel his passion and dedication of being a talented athlete as well as a talented artist.

It’s worth noting that Lu’ is a definite powerhouse to keep an eye on as he continues to break barriers in both sports and music. His transition from sports to music is a prominent testament to him embracing his versatility, following his dreams, and reaching new heights. The unfolding musical journey of this rising Canadian artist is a must see.
