Ziplocks full of cash in Young Dolph & Kenny Muney’s “Ashtray” video
Young Dolph built an EMPIRE in his backyard of Memphis, and now he’s help the city’s young talent have a moment in the sun. Teaming up with Kenny Muney for a new video, Dolph and Paper Route EMPIRE share “Ashtray.” Produced by Sosa 808, who creates a thumper with ethereal vocal samples and pounding 808s, “Ashtray” gets its power from the contrast between Dolph’s methodical flexes and Kenny Muney’s locked-in triplet flow: “Unlocked a new Stingray, but I had to park it for a second, hopped back in my Demon,” brags Dolph, while Kenny Muney says, ” I’m having more bags than a trash day.” In the video, Dolph and Kenny Muney do business in a garage, counting up cash by the thousand and playing host to a bevy of beautiful women. “Ashtray” is a highlight track from PAPER ROUTE iLLUMINATi, Paper Route EMPIRE’s first-ever compilation mixtape, and follows recent videos from PRE signees like Snupe Bandz, Big Moochie Grape, and Joddy Badass, as well as Dolph’s recent clip for “Talking To My Scale.”
The mixtape represents the culmination of a long and fruitful rise for Young Dolph–the mogul is ready to flex his A&R and CEO muscles, bringing a new crop of talent to the forefront. Along with Key Glock and Snupe Bandz, the tape features standout contributions from street favorites like Big Moochie Grape and Kenny Muney, and new signees like PaperRoute Woo, Big Unccc, and PRE first lady Joddy Badass. The 23-track tape offers the label to showcase its roster in plenty of combinations, and leaves room for big shots like Dolph, Glock, and Moochie to show off on solo songs of their own. Featuring an appearance from Gucci Mane and production from Bandplay, Memphis beatmakers like Tay Keith, DJ Squeeky, and Sosa808, ands trap titans like Drumma Boy and Budda Bless, PAPER ROUTE iLLUMINATi is available to stream everywhere via Paper Route EMPIRE.
PAPER ROUTE iLLUMINATi continues a banner year for the label, following up the release of Dum And Dummer 2, a collaborative album by Young Dolph and Key Glock. Debuting at #8 on the Billboard 200, Dum and Dummer 2 generated nearly 36k sales equivalent units across platforms and scored the fifth-biggest streaming debut on Spotify during its first week of release. Earlier this month, the album received a glowing review from Pitchfork, who awarded the album a 7.5 score and cemented Young Dolph & Key Glock as a “once-in-a-generation” rap duo, akin to 8Ball & MJG or Method Man & Redman, and “one of the most in-sync alliances in the genre today.” Dum & Dummer 2 is the duo’s second Top 10 album, following the original Dum and Dummer, which debuted at #8 in 2019.

Lu’ (@ottawasveryown) is back with another one! He has been shaking things up in the music scene since his ground-breaking debut “FEVA,” released earlier in February this year. Now, he returns with another highly-anticipated single, “Over,” out now. This offering is accompanied with a music video & solidifies Lu’s mark in the music game with his captivating storytelling and infectious sound.

Originally hailing from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and now making waves in Phoenix, Arizona, Lu’ is a renowned Arizona Cardinals linebacker who made his musical debut earlier this year with his debut single, “FEVA.” Fighting the notion of “shut up and dribble,” Lu’ has shown that he’s far more multifaceted than just an average athlete. He shares, “The narrative of ‘shut up and dribble’ is one I’ve fought internally for a very long time. I want my audience to grasp how passionate I am about chasing my wildest dreams. Asian-American rappers Star2, ChinaTownRunner, and $tupid Young release the new single / video entitled “FWM”. The single precedes Star2 and ChinaTownRunner’s upcoming EP and sets the bar high with haunting cavernous beats and dark melodic flow.
Each of them affirm that they are “about money” in their separate verses and all ask listeners to “come and F*** With Me.” The music video for “FWM” captures Star2, ChinaTownRunner, and $tupid Young in a graffiti-stroked garage full of sports cars and women. Leaning into the sheer magnitude of the track itself, the visuals for “FWM” zero in on each rapper for an intense performance.
Star2 and ChinaTownRunner are preparing to embark on a summer tour with $tupid Young set to appear at multiple dates. Additionally, Star2 and ChinaTownRunner will perform on July 6th in support of the annual Ka-ren Soccer Tournament and Concert in South Dakota.
Star2 is a refugee artist from the Mae La refugee camp in Thailand. Star2’s documentary, RETURN TO KAWTHOOLEI: A Refugee Rapper’s Journey to His Homeland in Burma will be screened at the New Media Film Festival in LA on June 6th. So far, the documentary has been awarded with “Best Short Documentary” at the Malaysian Film Festival, “Best Documentary” at the Busan New Wave Short Film Festival in S. Korea, “Best Web and Media” at the IndieX Film Fest in LA, and “Exceptional Merit in Docu-drama Short & Human Spirit” at the Documentaries Without Borders Film Festival. Star2 returns to Thailand in May for his second trip.
