Morray Releases Street Sermons mixtape & “Can’t Use Me” video

Published

on

Morray’s much anticipated mixtape Street Sermons will be released tomorrow, along with the video for “Can’t Use Me,” both out via Pick Six Records/Interscope. Street Sermons is 13 tracks of tracks of just Morray, no features, where he taps into the spiritual uplift and church-trained singing that makes his brand of hip-hop so unique. A first-listen standout for me is “That’s On God,” it’s a look back on where he’s been and where he’s headed: “One day Imma get it right that’s on God/ Imma be the best alive that’s on God/ Imma make it out the mud/ Imma be the chosen one/ Imma do it for the love/ that’s on God.” His soulful singing and ability to combine it seamlessly with rappity-rap bars is a skill mastered by few, and across the project Morray displays that not only has he mastered it, but he’s morphed it into a version that could only be his.

To celebrate the Street Sermons release, Morray shares the video for “Can’t Use Me.” In the video, he poses in a radio station that he has taken hostage, broadcasting his message to the world that he isn’t to be played with. In typical Morray fashion, you can’t help but bop along no matter what message he’s delivering.

From Meek Mill to Lil Uzi Vert and Tierra Whack, Philadelphia is home to some of the hottest artists in the game. It should be no surprise we are sharing a new track from emerging 215 artist, Dell Corcetti. Titled “Priceless,” Dell croons over atmospheric production courtesy of Gibbo as he raps about his lady and lifestyle.

“With this song, I was aiming to capture the spirit of many songs from my old playlist that shaped my taste in music. That’s where I found my inspiration for how I stitched together my melodies. Not to mention, the beat alone already stirred inspiration inside of me. The producer (Gibbo) really did his thing.”
