Friday Gems: @EraHardaway and @DOESKIFRMDAPACK trade bars on “Free Rich”

Published

on

The system has a way of locking the guys up one by one, and, in their absence, the bonds that strengthen the rest of the collective tend to grow tighter. Era Hardaway and Doe$ki are two of Virginia’s premier lyricists, established at the local, state, and national levels with lucrative fanbases behind them. Era’s verbiage and delivery is fast and loose, Doeski’s unhinged and furious. When they come together,  magic happens. In this latest cut from Era’s previously released project The Juug Tape, both rappers pay tribute to their incarcerated friend with some seriously vibrant bars. The visual, shot and edited by Vontae Knight, is awash in various hues of blues, and, along with some creative camera cuts and camerawork, goes a long way in crafting the brilliance of the experience.

Akhil Sesh’s latest visual is “Lil Thouwow” and if there’s one word to describe it, it’s definitely “wow.” That’s a good one by the way, often because the word gets misconstrued in this context. In the visual for the song smoother than usual song, Akhil Sesh loads on copious amounts of special effects that showcase a drive to be eclectic. It works, too.

Corin is a rising R & B stalwart out of the city with a soulful sound that cuts through much of the more atmospheric muddling that exists in contemporary soul culture. With a fresh, funky twist, her latest will give you something to remember.
