Zazilla is curtailing the spotlight for his own benefit as he continues to become the most talented up-and-coming rapper coming out of Salt Lake City, Utah. His new single “Ohhh Myyy” featuring That Mexican OT is certainly evidence he’s currently in a wave right now.

With a distinctive style and a passion for representing his Mexican heritage, Zazilla’s journey in music has been nothing short of inspiring and reinforces the age-old mantra “Work hard, play hard.” In fact, Zazilla’s fateful collaboration with That Mexican OT was actually a years-long move-in-the-making that kicked off in the midst of the pandemic.

Zazilla had been a fan of OT since 2021 and had been in contact with him for quite some time before there was any talk of a collaboration materialized.

“I have been DM’ing That Mexican OT since 2021 cuz I was a fan of his before I was even able to make this happen—we have been working on this for the last year,” Zazilla said in part. “And I had told my boy n8 that I fuck with That Mexican OT from Texas and that I wanted to do a feature with him, mind you this is months before anything was even a thought.”

On the flip side, Zazilla started creating his own sonic footprint in 2018 upon the release of his inaugural commercial single “Let Em Off.” He’s maintained a consistent string of releases in recent years all while gaining valuable knowledge about the industry from Big Fedi Records—the management team-turned-label. The imprint is actually responsible for discovering numerous successful acts such as Baby Bash and more. In the end, It was Zazilla’s unwavering dedication and timely advice from his close associates that led him to prioritize his career over a tempting weekend in Las Vegas. This decision ultimately proved pivotal, setting the stage for what would become a significant milestone in his musical journey.

“I get a call from n8 like ‘,Yo That Mexican OT is coming for a show make sure you get your $ right,’ so I got to it and a day before the show I got asked to go to Las Vegas for the weekend. I almost went but again my brotha n8 called me and when I told him I was going to Las Vegas for the weekend he said you’re an idiot and made me really think about the opportunity I was trading for a lit weekend, so I stayed and it’s been one of the best choices I’ve made for my career.”

Zazilla went on to reveal that they actually recorded “Ohhh Myyy” months before OT’s Paull Wall co-signed viral single “Johnny Dang” was released. Talk about divine timing! Now, with a full head of steam, Zazilla believes it is his time to make his mark in the industry as the next well-connected, lyrically versatile Mexican rapper to blow up.

“This record means a lot because to me because it’s my introduction into the music industry, not only that but it’s a big record coming out of Utah with one of the hottest Mexican rap artists out right now and it’s a good representation for the Utah music scene and Big Fedi and I as a team overall,” Zazilla said.
