Marques Houston Returns To R&B With New Single “Last Drop”

Published

on

Marques Houston returns to R&B after a two-year break with the buzzing new single “Last Drop.”

The 42-year-old entertainer is making a strong comeback with his new track from the upcoming album The Best Worst Year Ever. “Last Drop” is a romantic serenade that interpolates Tevin Campbell’s “Can We Talk.”

Houston sings, “I wanna be the one that you call when you’re feeling low / I wanna be the one you can call on, girl, that’s for sure.”

“I wanted to get back to my nostalgic roots by paying homage to one of my favorite songs of all time, ‘Can We Talk’ by Tevin Campbell,” said Houston about making the new track. “I love the way that song makes me feel and the power it has to take me back to a moment of my many crushes as a teen. I wanted to create a rendition of the song and make it today’s generation’s soundtrack for their crushes.”

“Last Drop” was co-written by Houston and Ryan Hirt, with Jeffrey Toney on production. The song’s video pays homage to classic R&B visuals, featuring scenes of Houston dancing and singing in the rain.

“Last Drop” follows the release of “Admit It” in January. Both tracks will be featured on Houston’s upcoming album, due later this year. Additionally, he is expected to announce a headlining tour soon.

His new project follows his 2022 EP, ME: Dark Water, which included collaborations with Ray J and Monteco. With “Last Drop,” Houston aims to reignite the excitement he once stirred as “Batman” of the 1990s boy band Immature, later known as IMx. This new single, released via Phoenix Music Group, marks his return to the music scene.

Born in New Jersey yet raised in Hampton Roads, Virginia, G FACE BABY is the definition of a true hustler. While he swapped from private to public schools and even alternative ones, he always kept his goals at the forefront of his mind. Early in his career, he faced a lot of tough consequences due to his environment. After beating homelessness and imprisonment, he was ready to get his act together and push his skills to the next level.

In continuation with his rise in success,he re-stationed himself in PA, immediately executing his interest in music; previously known as ‘gravity productions,’ he began producing music (with influences like afrobeats, EDM, hip-hop, etc.)in 2016, along with developing performance skills inspired by (flexing and bruk up) dance.

I have made performance appearances at colleges like Norfolk State University and Virginia Wesleyan University. I have also traveled to the boiler room, battlefest league, (Kill or be Killed) kobk, and World of Dance in New York to perform at showcases, judge performances, and so much more.

In 2022, he decided to monopolize the cannabis industry in the DMV, leading to multiple creative business ventures. He moved back to Hampton Roads to cultivate a community and expand the industry. After getting settled, he established his cannabis company, Zooskies, in early 2023, which led to the expansion of his success journey. He became a savant and expert in the commercial product development field in the cannabis market.

In the latter of the year, FACE was introduced to a brand that sparked his interest, Always, Always founded by (Zero the God), which resulted in their investment opportunity with his company, Zooskies and so much more. FACE then created a company named VIRVA Marketing (Virginia, Virginia) and Invested in a space in Norfolk, Virginia, to offer a free platform where Always, Always, and he could produce music and content.

Today, he’s excited about dropping music, sharing his passions, and pushing his entrepreneurial passions to the limit. He is an CEO, Investor, Talent Acquisition, Label Executive, Artist, Producer/Engineer, Song Writer, Musician, Influencer, and more.

Sampling Tem’s “Me & U,” Haitian Hip-Hop artist Alex Jean recruits Grammy Award-winning instrumentalist Rodney Jerkins for his latest leak “I Need Faith.” Co-produced by Jack Lawson, the infectious yet inspirational cut finds the Florida native effortlessly rapping the song’s lyrics with his larger than life vocals. The record marks Jean’s addition to Darkchild’s Alienz Alive label and preview of what new found fans can expect going forward.

Born and raised in Orlando with an older sister and their parents, Alex Jean is no stranger to adversity or achievement. Though early on in grade school he was a self described troublemaker, getting into fights and causing mischief, his family eventually moved into a well to do neighborhood where he received a more suitable education. The graduate of Lake Minneola Highschool, credits his father’s musical talents, Michael Jackson, Reggaeton acts like Don Omar and the strong bond with his sibling as the foundation for his forward progression.

Prior to making the decision to be a full time recording artist, Alex thought he was going to be a guitarist but soon realized his voice was ultimately the instrument he’d be using to help influence the world and help people in it find freedom. Last year his “Love Like That” collaboration with Hulvey & Torey D’Shaun reached No. 45 on Billboard’s HCS chart and with new music loaded up he’s poised to make a lasting impact that transcends the status quo.
