KitschKrieg Recruits Anti Da Menace for Percolating “Really Rich” Single

Published

on

KitschKrieg conquered their home country with their sleek aesthetic and futuristic sounds, and now the Berlin-based collective has America in their sights. Joining forces with Atlanta up-and-comer Anti Da Menace, KitschKrieg comes through with another banger, Really Rich,” along with a typically stylish music video.

Recently co-signed by heavy-hitters like Lil Baby and boxer Gervonta Davis, Anti Da Menace is one of the hottest risers in the ATL scene. Eschewing the bombastic trap sounds of Anti’s hometown, “Really Rich” provides the rapper with a bouncy, afro-inspired riddim, that showcases KitschKrieg’s impressive minimalism at its best. For his part, Anti takes to the instrumental like a natural, painting the contours of the instrumental with repeated phrases and captivating with his drawly flexes: “Shots fired, he’s a dead man on the scene/Casamigos turn me up, I think I’m tired of drinking lean/18-years-old, having grown man dreams,” spits Anti. Shot in crisp black-and-white–a KitschKrieg trademark–the video for “Really Rich” firmly focuses on Anti Da Menace as he delivers his performance in his home neighborhood.

“Really Rich” is the latest glimpse of German Engineering 1, the upcoming album from KitschKrieg, which features a stacked lineup of guest vocalists from the U.S. and UK rap scenes. The Anti Da Menace spotlight is the second single from the album, following the 2-step-flavored “Baby,” a collaboration with buzzing UK rapper ArzGerman Engineering 1 arrives this summer via KitschKrieg’s own SoulForce Records.

Animated by excellent taste and a dedication to their craft, KitschKrieg created a sound of their own, drawing from influences that range from the holistic approach of Bauhaus to the steely soundscapes of grime to the electronic music of their hometown of Berlin–all while staying out of the way and letting the vocal breathe. A trio comprised of FizzleFiji Kris, and elusive photographer °awhodat°, KitschKrieg rose steadily over the past five years to become one of the biggest acts in German music. KitschKriegtheir 2020 debut album, spawned two #1 hits, generated over 400 million streams across platforms, and featured guest spots from international names like Vybz Kartel and Modeselektor and local heroes like Peter Fox and Trettmann, a star German rapper signed to KK’s SoulForce Records. They’re known for their exquisite taste in streetwear–their new offerings sell out in hours–and have partnered with brands like NikeCarhartt, and Monopoly.

Last year, KitschKrieg collaborated with Brooklyn drill bruiser DUSTY LOCANE for the brash banger Ratchets,” which came with a video featuring an early cameo appearance from Ice Spice.

With their sights set on conquering new worlds and German Engineering 1 on the way, KitschKrieg is determined to continue their war against disposable art on foreign shores. “Ratchets” is merely the opening salvo–stay tuned for much more.
