VA’s Flame Blazin & Strong Independent Youth Hosts First Annual Christmas Coat Drive

Talented Virginia rapper and philanthropist Flame Blazin hosted the first annual Christmas Coat Drive courtesy of his new non-profit organization, Strong Independent Youth, at the Newport News Boys & Girls Club. The established recording artist gave out dozens of coats to children in need near the area with the help of LJ Burrell, CEO of Wilson Wealth Enterprises, and Kiara Barrett, Unit Director at The Newport News Boys & Girls Club.

Speaking on the ceremonious event, Flame Blazin, also known as Rashad Langley, explained, “Many families struggle, and being from Hampton Roads, I want to show I’m here for them. Some kids turn to crime for things they could earn by taking the right steps, like getting a job or seeking help, avoiding hardship for themselves and their families.”

Flame Blazin is known for his hardened bars and real-life stories within his music. Today, he is ready to leave a legacy for his children and show the youth in the Hampton Roads area that they are not alone. He understands what his life was like growing up and is excited about having the chance to make a difference for those who are coming after him. His fans have watched him mature over the years, and this is seemingly his best moment yet. Be on the lookout for more givebacks from the young emcee as he looks to leave his mark on the city that helped him grow into the man he is today.
