Derek Minor (@thederekminor) is Nashville’s most unique and achieved gospel-driven rapper. The Reflection Music Group / EMPIRE MVP is now rounding out the summer with his new 10-track LP, Nobody’s Perfect. As always, Minor has found a way to creatively expand his sound while incorporating his Christian undertones in the most digestible form. The celebratory project showcases every facet of the multi-dimensional emcee.

Derek Minor’s new album had over 3500 presaves before its release. The Alt-Trap rap star performed in front of more than 1,000 people at the Smoke Conference. The Top 10 Apple Music Charting project is now out for the world to consume after heavy anticipation.

With top-notch production and impeccable feature selections, the 32-minute project covers many themes that primarily lean toward mental health awareness. Minor uncovered his most vulnerable thoughts with witty lyricism and energetic beats by bearing his soul on every track. The album boasts features from Byron Juane, Thi’sl, Aaron Cole, International Show, DJ Mal-Ski, Ty Brasel, Susan Carol, and more.

Songs like “More OTW” and “Third Day” pay homage to his hard work and progression as a recording artist and entrepreneur, while tracks like “Scars” and “It’s Okay” tap into the battle between the ears most people deal with following the worldwide COVID-19 epidemic. His impactful visual for “Pressure” helps visualize one of the project’s standout tracks.

Star2 x Sprite x Luh Kel release the new single and video “Where Would You Go?”. The song taps into the frustration of questioning someone’s loyalty to you. The verses seamlessly shift between English and Thai in a vibrant fusion of R&B-infused melodic hip hop that is both poignant and powerful.

“Where Would You Go?” was filmed at Wat Saket (The Golden Mount), which is a significant ancient Buddhist temple in Bangkok where monks live and pray.  Many scenes took place in the cave on the property that displays a large replica of the towering 33 ft. “Bamiyan Buddha” from central Afghanistan that was destroyed by the Taliban in 2001, and recreated to bring back the lost cultural heritage.

“Where Would You Go?” is from Star2’s forthcoming EP, No Place Like Home, which is set to drop on May 9th.
