Dende Has a Break Through on ”95 Civic’

Published

on

Dende has taken his artistry to another level on his latest LP, ’95 Civic. The 12-track audio adventure is the ride of a lifetime. The album’s central themes of love, heartbreak, and passion are all consistent throughout. Each track bleeds into the next with impeccable precision. Although the album is seemingly perfect sonically, Dende’s self-aware lyricism showcases his flaws in abundance. The Texas-bred crooner uses his soulful southern church vocal to express his passion in each song. Following the light and positive energy from his latest EP, Before We Crash, ’95 Civic is the perfect full-length juxtaposition.

Dende’s new album starts smoothly with “I Wrote You A Song.” The stripped-back introduction is the perfect platform for the rising R&B star to showcase his vocal range. The stage was set for Dende to “Swerve” into his following Eimaral Sol-assisted single. Tracks like “Block Me” and “Lost” were solid padding ahead of the emotionally heavy album stand out, “Nightmares.” Things pick back up on “Wish You Well,” an exciting track that showcases his fellow CXR label mate, Chris Patrick. The talented duo always deliver on tracks together and have been making waves on the road supporting Patrick’s Gang Activity Tour.

ARTIST QUOTE: “Releasing ’95 Civic feels like the last thing I needed to do to move on to the next phase of my life. Although it’s a sad project, the time it allowed me to spend with A&R Mizz and producer Billy Blunt is something I will never forget. This is our best work yet.”

Dende has been going viral for his classic yet refreshing R&B sound. The album is exciting and full of highs, but none greater than “Part-Time Lover” featuring Lilly Aviana. Dende doesn’t hold any emotions throughout the project. He explores various sounds and pushes himself to his creative limits with his long-time producer and friend, Billy Blunt. The singing tandem made a moment that will be hard to top in the future. One thing has become overwhelmingly clear for the fast-rising singer; he is here to stay.

KVTheWriter & Mai Lee Drops New Track, “Figure Out The Rest”

Published

on

Before she headlines Festival of Nations at Tower Grove Park next month and delivers the re-release of her debut LP ‘FRIENDZ,’ Mai Lee joins KVTheWriter on the official remix to her Reggie Son assisted track “Figure Out The Rest.” The STL posse cut finds the trio trading soulful verses about the 314 and all it’s allure over melodic guitar strums.

“I enjoyed sharing my artistry with KVtheWriter and Reggie Son. It was my first time working with them and I loved the experience. The song’s production is unique and allows each artist to stand out on the song. I felt like I gave St. Louis a bit of sexy sauce with my vocals,” say’s Lee speaking on the collaboration exclusively in a press statement.

A medley of the people and places she represents, Mai Lee transcends the boundaries of music and fashion. Growing up in Missouri, the seasoned singer has always had music on her mind and in her heart. Attending performing arts schools during her youth, she uses those experiences to create a unique genre blending sound. Known for her intoxicating and soulful vocals, Mai Lee has shared the stage with artists such as Megan Thee Stallion, 2 Chainz, Fetty Wap, Estelle, and Busta Rhymes, performing in front of an audience of 20K+ people.

While you may hear some familiar influences in her sound, Mai Lee notes her parents as her biggest inspirations for her music career. Fleeing from Vietnam in 1978 during the Vietnam War, Lee’s parents migrated through multiple refugee camps over the years before calling St. Louis their home. They opened up the first Vietnamese and Chinese Restaurant, Mai Lee Restaurant, a local staple in the city. The restaurant was built from absolutely nothing and ended up becoming the blueprint. Watching them work hard towards their dreams gave her the hustle and grit to pursue her dreams.
