Hailing from Virginia is rising talent J-LIL, who premieres on our page today with his latest release titled “Skylines.”

Presented along with KMG, “Skylines” is a two-song effort featuring tracks “Look At This” and “POV.”

This two-pack displays a theme of perspective, view, and feeling. It is a pack meant to capture J-lil’s current mindset and what he sees. “Look At This” is an energetic, confident display of attention. The song demands attention and respect as J-lil continues to show off the fruit of his artistic development. “POV” is more of a diary rap piece that details some of J-lil’s frustrations and struggles he’s had to endure within the last year.

Jordan was surrounded by music, as he grew up alongside his two siblings, Joshua and Josiah who both had musical gifts as well. At the early age of 3, Jordan began to show interest in rapping and hip-hop. His mother would capitalize on this interest and form a duo between Josh and him called the J brothers. This duo was Jordan’s first introduction to music entertainment.

Jordan then began writing at the age of 8 and recorded his first EP at 14. The release of this project marked the beginning of his artist development. At 17 he started a rap series called “Food For Thought.” This series not only garnered over 100,000 views on Instagram but also caught the attention of rap publications and record labels. From the ages of 18 to 21 he would go on to polish his artistry as he attended Catawba College to study Popular Music and be mentored by industry professionals such as Jeff Little and Dennis Reed.
