Polo Perks shares new project More To Life Than This Pt 2 via Surf Gang Records

Published

on

Polo Perks has just shared his new project More To Life Than This Pt 2 via Surf Gang Records. The NYC rapper rose to prominence with his 2021 mixtape PUNK GOES DRILL+**, a project that mixes the depths of the pop-punk of the past and the current drill wave that has taken over New York City flawlessly. He followed this up later in the year with the final chapter in his ICFM seriesi.c.f.m. Pt. 3 / fortheonesilost, which The FADER noted for being as“chaotic as it is fun”. This past summer, Polo was featured in New York Magazine’s piece “The Voice of Drill” and detailed the nuance in drill’s composition, as well as discussed the ongoing suppression the sub-genre is experiencing at the hands of Mayor Adams and the NYPD.

More To Life Than This Pt 2 showcases the varied styles, sounds, and influences that make up Polo’s dynamic artistry. The tape offers everything from angsty pop-punk-inspired tracks, to potent drill cuts, downtempo slow-songs, and everything in between. Across 12-tracks, Polo navigates through the flash and flare of his fast-paced lifestyle, as he raps about the more lush moments in the spotlight, his turbulent love life, and the detachments that come along with success. This project serves as a sequel to Polo’s fan-favorite 2020 project More To Life Than This. Ahead of More To Life Than This Pt 2 release, Polo shared the video single “Confused N In Love” a song produced by EvilGiane, and exhibits his distorted vocals racing through a blistering instrumental composed of zany synths, celestial keys, and booming drums. Polo Perks proved beyond a doubt that he is a principal artist in the next generation of superstars with the release of latest his mixtape More To Life Than This Pt 2 and he’s showing no signs of slowing down.
