Atlanta’s Flwr Chyld Signs With Raedio, Releases Debut Album “LUV N CHAOS”

Published

on

R&B talent Flwr Chyld announced his highly anticipated debut LP as the first signee under Issa Rae’s Raedio Publishing. Singles “Lucky Me” and “In Your Arms” have continued to entice listeners, as they look forward to continued ariose reflections of unconventional love – featuring sultry artists: Sebastian Mikael, Amber Narvan of Moonchild and Kadhja Bonet.

This Summer, Flwr Chyld finalized a long-awaited deal as the first producer-artist under Raedio – opening an innovative bandwidth of opportunities for synchronization in television, motion-pictures, and creative collaborations. This is an opportunity for his unique sound to highlight groundbreaking work at Issa’s company, as well as emphasize the advancement of various producer-artists in the industry.

Thoughts of a possible deal lingered in mind as he continued to have his best year musically – following the release of his 2020 melodic EP “Flow” feat. Emmavie, James Tillman and MIA GlADSTONE. As he adds the finishing touches on his upcoming debut-album, it was only a matter of time before the proper funding and support courted Flwry Chyld into his next level of artistry.

Xtina Prince, recently inaugurated as General Manager of Label and Publishing for Raedio earlier this year, deemed Flwr Chyld as the perfect fit for the “audience everywhere” company. Their music connection sparked years ago when the two had hopes of finding a solid distribution route in her previous role at another company. This became a full-circle moment in 2022, while located in neighboring cities, as both parties navigated the best deal at the perfect start of Xtina’s new role. Paired with creative professionals on Raedio’s team, Flwr Chyld predicts a sonically-elevated experience for the remainder of his career within himself and collaborators.

“Xtina has always been excited for me, and was even more excited about her new position. She’s now able to work her magic the way she’s always wanted to… and is in the position to give the right opportunity to the right people,” says Flwr Chyld, “I’m just excited to be a part of this niche market. Things have been evolving and I’m able to feel new energies and have new conversations. It’s definitely the right place and the right timing!

Xtina adds, “Flwr Chyld is special. From the moment I heard his music, I knew I had to find a way to support him. Giving independent artists opportunities to advance on their own terms has always been at the forefront of my passion in the music business. To be able to offer this opportunity to such an incredible talent, is the reason I do this everyday.”

Black Skywalker Drops Anticipated ‘I Need Therapy’ EP

Published

on

Black Skywalker, the rising artist with an undeniable buzz, drops his debut EP, I Need Therapy.

The new project promises to usher in the new era of hip-hop. “Rap music is in a dark place and I came to bring the light,” said Skywalker. “The type of music I make is best described as Outer Space Jedi-level rap shit.”

Black Skywalker and Chris Rosa produced the debut EP featuring the focus track “Pills and Alcohol”. The single describes a man battling depression and anxiety with prescription medicine and champagne.

The EP includes hard-hitting 808s, crackling snares, and spacey synths. “We in Love” is a melodic record with a bouncy bass and drums. However, the lyrics depict a flawed relationship due to social media and porn addiction.

Black Skywalker’s ‘Pain of Letting Go’ has huge production and raw guitar. The lyrics express deep emotion and heartbreak, making the EP’s inspiration very clear.

“Therapy” is a song that touches on the struggles of life and the importance of seeking help. The production is interesting, with dark verses and uplifting hooks. The second verse highlights the benefits of opening up to a therapist and encourages others to do the same.

“Slide with Me” is a standout track from the EP with great production and an infectious hook. It narrates the story of falling in love with the woman of your dreams and has an upbeat vibe that sets it apart from the rest of the EP.

EP delivers a relatable conversation, amazing production, and intentional songwriting. Black Skywalker calls it outer space Jedi-level rap music.
