Rush Kurly Is Musics Next Artist On The Rise
He was endorsed by Hip-hop artist future in 2016. After Future heard him rap, he was confident Rush Kurly was going to blow up soon. Rush Kurly dropped his hit single ‘Nuh Nuh’ in 2017. The song earned over 80k plays on Sound cloud and was added to some extensive Spotify playlists. Dropped his debut mixtape “we are not who we are” in 2018.
Born and raised in Ghana, West Africa, Rush Kurly fell in love with hip-hop at a very early age. However, Hip-hop wasn’t huge in Africa, and he was often called a ‘wannabe’ for trying to act and dress like American Hip-Hop artists. Lil Wayne influenced him. And later, Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, etc. He taught himself how to rap on YouTube. While his peers were playing soccer, Rush would be downloading Lil Wayne’s songs and memorizing all his lyrics. He soon started writing his own lyrics while learning to make songs.
While Kurly is only at the beginning of this career, some of his goals include going mainstream and being able to sign with the top artist while also signing with Nike.
“Due to my early influences being Lil Wayne and Jay Z, I could not do or relate to typical afro-pop (African style of music). I just wanted to rap,” he said. Rush Kurly writes his music inspired by “how to rap” videos on YouTube and dissects significant Hip Hop artists such as Lil Wayne and Eminem. Aside from rap, Kurly also has a big passion for entrepreneurship. He wants to be able to pursue music and create large businesses and companies. He even went on to study at Concord University business management.
“My motivation is myself. I gotta prove to myself that it can be done. No hip-hop artist from Africa (born and raised and grew up in Africa) has ever made it in the United States,” Kurly said.
Some of Kurly’s music can include different and diverse sounds from the usual hip-hop sounds. Most of his inspiration comes from the two primary cultures he was raised in, Africa and the U.S. Through his music, and he wants to use his story-telling skills and create an impact on his fanbase. While the singer/songwriter is still independent, he is still trying to sign with a label. Meanwhile, you can still listen to his music on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.

Originally hailing from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and now making waves in Phoenix, Arizona, Lu’ is a renowned Arizona Cardinals linebacker who made his musical debut earlier this year with his debut single, “FEVA.” Fighting the notion of “shut up and dribble,” Lu’ has shown that he’s far more multifaceted than just an average athlete. He shares, “The narrative of ‘shut up and dribble’ is one I’ve fought internally for a very long time. I want my audience to grasp how passionate I am about chasing my wildest dreams. You can’t let another person tell you, your dreams are too far unattainable.” Lu’ has been able to perfectly parallel his passion and dedication of being a talented athlete as well as a talented artist.
It’s worth noting that Lu’ is a definite powerhouse to keep an eye on as he continues to break barriers in both sports and music. His transition from sports to music is a prominent testament to him embracing his versatility, following his dreams, and reaching new heights. The unfolding musical journey of this rising Canadian artist is a must see.

Asian-American rappers Star2, ChinaTownRunner, and $tupid Young release the new single / video entitled “FWM”. The single precedes Star2 and ChinaTownRunner’s upcoming EP and sets the bar high with haunting cavernous beats and dark melodic flow.
Each of them affirm that they are “about money” in their separate verses and all ask listeners to “come and F*** With Me.” The music video for “FWM” captures Star2, ChinaTownRunner, and $tupid Young in a graffiti-stroked garage full of sports cars and women. Leaning into the sheer magnitude of the track itself, the visuals for “FWM” zero in on each rapper for an intense performance.
Star2 and ChinaTownRunner are preparing to embark on a summer tour with $tupid Young set to appear at multiple dates. Additionally, Star2 and ChinaTownRunner will perform on July 6th in support of the annual Ka-ren Soccer Tournament and Concert in South Dakota.
Star2 is a refugee artist from the Mae La refugee camp in Thailand. Star2’s documentary, RETURN TO KAWTHOOLEI: A Refugee Rapper’s Journey to His Homeland in Burma will be screened at the New Media Film Festival in LA on June 6th. So far, the documentary has been awarded with “Best Short Documentary” at the Malaysian Film Festival, “Best Documentary” at the Busan New Wave Short Film Festival in S. Korea, “Best Web and Media” at the IndieX Film Fest in LA, and “Exceptional Merit in Docu-drama Short & Human Spirit” at the Documentaries Without Borders Film Festival. Star2 returns to Thailand in May for his second trip.
