VA’s Orion Opens Up In “Tenet” Visual!

Published

on

Inspired by the movie which stars Denzel Washigton‘s son John David Washington, DMV based recording artist and songwriter Orion (@O_Delasoul) unloads the official music video for his Foreign Vu-produced single “Tenet.” DIrected by Ayden Bravo for dogged contender, the HD-clip marks the beginning of a new phase in the Virginia native’s soundscape and creatively captures his transition from adolescent to adulthood.

Explaining the record’s origins in first person, Orion states:

“While making the song I was heavily watching the film ‘Tenet,’ hence the name of the track. The song to me really just represents what the 2022 version of Orion has to offer. I really get to showcase just how much my melodies and word play has evolved. Basically, this is the appetizer to what me and my team have been cooking up.”

Named after the constellation and raised in Northern Virginia, Orion was introduced to music at a young age by way of his parents, playing artists such as Mary J. BlidgeThe DelfonicsAaliyah, and even Sting. As time progressed, artists such as Kanye WestGorillaz, and Virginia’s own Pharrell, sparked Orion’s personal infatuation towards music. This ultimately inspired him to start creating and releasing music of his own.

In late 2015, Orion released his breakout single “TTG,” which has now amassed over 6M+ streams across all platforms. Five years later, he released his long awaited full-length project Cyberpunk. The 12-track body of work draws influence from multiple mediums and finds Orion traversing the strange digital world of a never-released VR game.

From modern trap to edm to a blend between the two, Orion breaks all the rules of what a modern artist is capable of, adding his own sparkle to any sound he touches. Watch the music video for “Tenet” and stream the track on your DSP of choice after the jump via HEY Collective / WeAreVA, LLC.

Lu’ (@ottawasveryown) is back with another one! He has been shaking things up in the music scene since his ground-breaking debut “FEVA,” released earlier in February this year. Now, he returns with another highly-anticipated single, “Over,” out now. This offering is accompanied with a music video & solidifies Lu’s mark in the music game with his captivating storytelling and infectious sound.

“Over” is another compelling feel good single that highlights Lu’s artistic identity and capability. “Over evokes pure enjoyment and immaculate summer vibes,” he says. He invites listeners into an irresistible musical experience through the Afrobeats sound. Drawing inspiration from English and French-speaking artists, as well as Congolese artists, he sets himself apart from the industry as a multilingual artist. The accompanying music video was shot in Lagos, Nigeria and offers a setting of African greatness, luxury, and an overall great time.

Originally hailing from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and now making waves in Phoenix, Arizona, Lu’ is a renowned Arizona Cardinals linebacker who made his musical debut earlier this year with his debut single, “FEVA.” Fighting the notion of “shut up and dribble,” Lu’ has shown that he’s far more multifaceted than just an average athlete. He shares, “The narrative of ‘shut up and dribble’ is one I’ve fought internally for a very long time. I want my audience to grasp how passionate I am about chasing my wildest dreams. You can’t let another person tell you, your dreams are too far unattainable.” Lu’ has been able to perfectly parallel his passion and dedication of being a talented athlete as well as a talented artist.

It’s worth noting that Lu’ is a definite powerhouse to keep an eye on as he continues to break barriers in both sports and music. His transition from sports to music is a prominent testament to him embracing his versatility, following his dreams, and reaching new heights. The unfolding musical journey of this rising Canadian artist is a must see.
