BoogieFrmDa8 is up next with his new single “Not Him”

Published

on

Los Angeles’s newest star BoogieFrmDa8 has made a hit with his latest single “Not Him”. Paired with an enticing visual, this energetic, boasting anthem begins with an opening bar that sets the tone: “I’m not that n*gga that’s gonna tell a lie for tv, you mention it, I won’t speak if it ain’t me.” BoogieFrmDa8 speaks with wisdom as he emphasizes aspects of strength and discipline, incorporating real-life experiences from growing up on 148th street on the west side of Compton.

“My song “Not Him” is about How n*ggas embrace fake and hate the real. There ain’t many real ones left. They are all locked up or resting in peace. I will not water down myself for a soul. I’ll take bicking it with a struggling real n*gga than a popular fake n*gga any day.”

BoogieFrmDa8 embodies rawness and realism as the 21-year-old has plenty of street-credibility to back up what he raps about. Since the age of eight years old, Boogie spent years in Campanella Park neighborhood, taking on the role of a lookout and ensuring OGs on the block were alerted of any potential incoming threats.

“It’s Brazy because my dad didn’t tell me to look out, I did that sh*t on my own,” continued Boogie. “I was paying attention to my dad and the OG homies lifestyle. Off back I learned who the OPPS were and that included the police. I rap about what I seen and what I been through.”

Although he grew up in the heart of G-Funk and West-Coast Hip Hop, Boogie’s main musical influences reign from artists such as Lil Boosie & Plies due to his roots in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He fell in love with expressing himself by freestyling, and once he turned 18 Boogie began his career by rapping over the instrumental of hit records such as “Uno” by AMB Jayy. That release ultimately led to him going viral and earning the moniker “Mr. Takeover Beats.” Boogie has picked up a tremendous amount of steam by consistently releasing singles featuring the hottest new artists in Los Angeles including “Pullin Skitz” featuring Baby Stone Gorillas, Treyway6k, and fellow Compton act YS.

Today, BoogieFrmDa8 goes into 2022 recognized as Compton’s next superstar. As he prepares for his upcoming mixtape titled “It’s Boogiefromda8”, the rising artist hopes fans receive this message from his music and future projects:

“Get money, follow your dreams. It’s perfectly OK to be the underdog,” Boogie says. “You ain’t gotta have a bunch of cheerleaders following you around. As long as you stay true to yourself, your craft, and stay grinding everything else will line up as it is supposed to be.”
