Envy Ojay Taps Based1 For “Dope Boy”

Published

on

Bad Bunny producer Based1 (@based1_) handles the instrumentation for rising rap act Envy Ojay (@envyojay) latest single “Dope Boy.” The collaboration from the Grammy-award winning sound architect and South Jersey native serves as Ojay’s debut release through HZRD Club, an independent record label founded by Gold songwriter Ant Beale

“Based1 and I made about 15 songs during a studio session we had a while back in L.A. Originally the song was over a different beat, then one morning 3 months later, I wake up to a text from Based1 saying that we had a hit. He had taken the acapellas and completely recreated the beat. It came out crazy,” said Envy Ojay in a statement.
