Rap/R&B Hybrid Chino Cappin Gets Vulnerable In “On My Last”

Chino uses his honeyed tenor and raw lyricism (which brings a whole new meaning to “music to my ear,” IMO),  to tell a tale of his come-up in “On My Last.” Chino alternates heartfelt confessions (“I had some n****s I love try to finesse me”) with effortless flexes (“I been getting money, this sh*t bustin’ out my pants too/I’m Michael Jackson moonwalkin’, I’m a bad dude”) in a smoothly melodic pattern. “On My Last” follows the Alamo Records signee’s recent video for Shine,” which has over 350k views on YouTube, and his anti-Valentine’s anthem “Fake Love.” Over the weekend, Chino shared a live performance of “Shine,” in which he is accompanied by a string quartet.
