Why Rapper AyeCee Is Up Next

Published

on

AyeCee, a Harlem-bred poet, is building a name for himself in the music industry as one of hip hop’s rising stars. The rapper opted to focus his enthusiasm and ability on a music career after pivoting from a career in professional basketball. AyeCee released his debut EP, Badd Choices, Good Stories, in 2021, and it was a project that set the rapper on the way to self-expression and tremendous success.

“Once I was done with college, and my dreams of playing professional basketball didn’t work out, I figured I would focus on my other passion–music,” the rapper shared. “Badd Choices, Good Stories is a project inspired by me finally deciding to take music seriously. I wanted to show that I can put together a versatile and different project that is also relevant,” he added.

Every day, over 60,000 new songs are added to streaming services like Spotify. Breaking through the cacophony is difficult for most musicians, but for AyeCee, whose project has received over 200,000 views on Spotify, it’s second nature.

“Right now, my biggest accomplishment is hitting 200,000+ streams on Spotify with Badd Choices, Good Stories, which is also doing well on all streaming platforms,” the Harlem rapper stated. “I also recently shot my first video, “Birdie,” with One Take from Visionary Visions, and it has gotten over 70,000 views on Youtube,” he added.

While fans like the UK-Drill-inspired sounds of songs like “Birdie,” the rapper has plans for more videos and even bigger projects in the pipeline, according to him.

The first thing that instantly grabs your attention in “No Feelings” is The Hawd’s entrancing flow. His ability to effortlessly ride the beat with his intricate lyricism is something to admire. Millyz then follows up with a raw and gritty performance that leaves no doubt about his ability to deliver bars. Their chemistry together is undeniable, as they both trade verses and bring their A-game to the track.
