Twista and Merk the Lyrical Tantrum Showcase Their Commonalities in “Playing No Games”
Artists from two of America’s most infamous inner-cities, New Orleans and Chicago, come together to spotlight their commonalities in “Playing No Games.” Merk the Lyrical Tantrum tapped the homie Twista for the second single from his forthcoming debut studio album, “International Ghetto Pass” which is also expected to feature Juvenile, Mystikal and more.
Growing up in Nola’s 9th Ward; notorious for drugs, violence and music, Merk was led down the only path he knew. Outside of street life, he played the trumpet, eventually composing his own music. Today his instrument is his signature voice and the rapid lyrical rap style delivery that earned him his name.
Twista’s own roots on Chicago’s impoverished West Side, along with his own now-legendary lyrical delivery made him the perfect co-star for “Playing No Games.” As Twista himself puts it, “Merk 9 is my bro I met through Black Rambo! He reminds me of my cousins! Merk has an infectious personality who needs his own brand and platform! He is a person of many talents and music is one. He is dope and I love his vocal tone!” Adding….“Playin No Games” is a song I instantly fell for and had to be a part of! High energy and real! It was made from good energy among us and of course we had to combine the sound with a visual to show our vibe and the wave we are on when we get together!!! “
Watch the video for “Playing No Games” below and watch out for Merk’s early 2022 album release on his own Neworlafornia Records label.
