Bandmanrill, Sha EK, and MCVERTT Announce 6/30 ‘Jiggy In Jersey’ Collab Project
Fusing NYC drill and Jersey Club into an incendiary mix that fills dancefloors on both sides of the Hudson, Bandmanrill, Sha EK, and MCVERTT define the sound of the new East Coast. Today, the Newark innovator, the Bronx rising star, and the 3x Platinum producer announce Defiant Presents: Jiggy In Jersey (ft. MCVERTT), executive-produced by MCVERTT, a supersized tape that shows off their considerable talents.
United under the banner of Defiant Presents, the Trio’s upcoming project demonstrates the Earth-shaking chemistry between Bandman’s smooth, rapidfire rhymes, Sha’s booming delivery, and MCVERTT’s indomitable, high-BPM production. Spanning 26 tracks, including the third installment of the epic “Jiggy In Jersey” trilogy, Defiant Presents: Jiggy In Jersey (ft. MCVERTT) arrives on June 30th via Defiant Records / Warner Records and is now available for pre-order.
Along with the announcement of the tape, Bandmanrill, Sha Ek, and MCVERTT share “Pistons,” their high-octane new video single. MCVERTT crafts a lush and propulsive backing track, combining sweeping strings with sliding 808s and skittering hi-hats to create a symphony of drill. Bandmanrill and Sha EK go toe-to-toe in a joint effort to annihilate all opposition, the Club Godfather reaffirming the rules of La Cosa Nostra for anyone who might’ve forgotten. In the video, Bandman and Sha take the subway from the Bronx to Manhattan, taking their crews on a shiesty-clad tour of the city. The video for “Pistons” follows in the wake Bandmanrill’s Crystal Waters-sampling “Mr. D.C.T.” and Sha EK’s “Never Want To Be Them Part 2,” featuring Chicago’s Lil Zay Osama.
Bandmanrill, Sha EK, and MCVERTT prepare to celebrate their new partnership this weekend at Hot 97’s Summer Jam, where they will headline the Defiant Warner Records Stage, hosted by French Montana, DJ Drewski, and Mia Belle. The Jiggy In Jersey troika top an exciting young bill that also features heavy-hitters like SAFE, Pheelz, and Kenzo B, with Funk Flex on the decks. Summer Jam 23 happens on June 4th at UBS Arena in Elmont, NY.
Over the past 18 months, Bandmanrill, Sha EK, and MCVERTT have proven to be three of the most influential forces in the East Coast rap scene. Bandmanrill’s spectacular 2022 featured dancefloor-shaking hits like the FADER-acclaimed “REAL HIPS,” culminating in his debut album Club Godfather, which Pitchfork praised as “breakneck” and “intoxicating.” Known for his natural megaphone of a voice, 20-year-old Sha EK reached the #1 spot on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart with his debut Face Of The What, and connected with Bandman for the East Coast anthem “WHO YOU TOUCH.” Rising producer MCVERTT is heralded as a father of the club rap scene taking hold in Newark, Philadelphia, and across the East Coast. MCVERTT is a credited producer on Lil Uzi Vert’s 3X Platinum, Top 10 hit “Just Wanna Rock.” The Tri-State trio are regular collaborators: Bandmanrill and MCVERTT made headlines for their unique club/drill hybrid, while Rill and Sha connected for club-crashing local hits like 2022’s “Jiggy In Jersey,” “Jiggy In Jersey Pt. 2,” and “WHO YOU TOUCH.”
Now signed to Defiant Records, in conjunction with Warner Records, Bandmanrill, Sha EK, and MCVERTT are ready to take their movement from Jersey to the world.
Stay tuned for much more from the “Jiggy In Jersey” trio as the weather gets warmer.

Kapri Releases New Music Video “Light Skin Shohei”
“Light Skin Shohei” by Kapri is an undeniable West Coast anthem that resonates with anyone who’s ever had to prove themselves in the face of doubt. Representing his hometown of Santa Ana, California, Kapri channels the essence of the West Coast sound with a bouncy, dark beat crafted by the talented producer FORTWOE. The track is an energetic declaration of self-confidence, with Kapri effortlessly laying down his message of resilience over the heavy, thumping bass and smooth yet sinister instrumentals.
From the moment the beat drops, you know you’re in for something special. FORTWOE’s production is a perfect blend of dark and bouncy, giving the track that signature West Coast feel while providing the perfect backdrop for Kapri’s assertive and charismatic delivery. The beat feels like it could knock in any late-night ride down the Pacific Coast Highway—smooth, confident, and ready to turn heads.
Lyrically, “Light Skin Shohei” is about overcoming obstacles and silencing critics. The song speaks to anyone who has been doubted or overlooked, providing an anthem of empowerment. Kapri’s confident, laid-back flow ensures the message hits home: rise above the negativity and show the world what you’re capable of. The reference to “Light Skin Shohei” even adds an extra layer of personality to the song, referencing the celebrated baseball player Shohei Ohtani and drawing a clever comparison to Kapri’s own rise, much like the athlete’s dominance in his field.
The way Kapri delivers his bars—cool, collected, yet forceful—brings out the track’s anthem-like quality. His cadence locks into FORTWOE’s beat, creating a synergy that feels both personal and universal, making it easy for listeners from all walks of life to vibe with the sentiment of success and determination.
In all, “Light Skin Shohei” is more than just a bouncy West Coast banger; it’s a powerful statement about pushing through adversity and asserting one’s place. Whether you’re cruising through the streets or listening to it at full volume to hype yourself up, this track does more than just entertain—it empowers. With Kapri at the forefront, and FORTWOE behind the boards, “Light Skin Shohei” is a track that’ll resonate for a long time to come.
