3 Years After Nipsey’s Passing, Hit-Boy & Pacman Da Gunman Release Joint Project ‘Bulletproof Soul’

Published

on

Above everything else, Pacman da Gunman is a man of principle with a bulletproof belief system. The South Central rapper will never do something just to do it, everything is calculated and intentional, nothing is forced. When Pacman connected with Hit-boy the musical chemistry was undeniable. Having heard the classic records like “Racks In The Middle” Hit created with Nipsey Hussle in the past, and Pac being Nip’s protege, the fit was natural. The two began working on a then untitled project, producing nearly twenty songs and eventually choosing the best nine. To say Hit-Boy was in his zone would be an understatement, this project was being recorded at Chalice Studios during the same time Nas was recording Kings Disease. Pac knew when he left the studio God’s Son was coming in right after him and he wouldn’t allow his sessions to be any less prolific.

‘Bulletproof Soul’ is a powerful statement made by Pacman da Gunman to stake his claim at the top of the West Coast rap food chain. A man with a teflon reputation, lyrics and flow to match. The album is named after one of his favorite songs by Sade, and as a reference to Nipsey’s lyrics on Victory Lap “Hunnit proof flow, run and shoot pro, 458 drop, playing Bullet Proof Soul”. The nine track album takes you on a ride from brash gangster rap on “Banging Late” and “Cold Nights on 60th St” to braggadocious tracks like “New Heat” with J Stone, to relatable relationship songs “Find a Balance” with Dom Kennedy and lastly vivid storytelling on “Till We Meet Again” which details his point of view on March 31st 2019 when his dear friend and mentor Nipsey Hussle was slain outside the Marathon Store. March 31st isn’t a day of celebration, but a day of reflection and 3 years later, with Hit-Boy and Pacman releasing an incredible body of work, it is clear the marathon continues.

Released via independent Los Angeles record label OTR Records.

on

Heir Jordan is a profound lyricist from the tri-state who implores pristine music that stems from real life experiences. The single we liked the most is “Out Of Town.” One word to describe it is fire!

It’s a good representation of the whole project and should set Heir Jordan to be in a good position overall going forward musically. The New Jersey product has a interesting background.

From the Silk City aka Paterson, NJ, Heir Jordan aka D. Jordan Wash is a Thirty-year-old Hip-Hop phenom. The rapper elicits a depth of skill well beyond what is expected of any age. After years of crafting his skill with Open Mics, Mixtape features “Heir Jordan” released his first album called Makeup>Sex released under Bleuprint. The album was a success for the unknown rapper because he fused great audio with stunning visuals in the film adaptation of the album.

Initially, the film was his way of breaking through the noise of the 60K songs released per day, But it has since become his calling card. Both received great praise and attention from his hometown and the surrounding cities.

With a creative mind and a good heart in his body Heir Jordan makes music for the everybody to relate to.

DC rapper Yung Kayo releases his EP Nineteen, on his 19th birthday. Nineteen captures the ever-evolving sound of Yung Kayo as he enters a new era, the youngest Young Stoner Life label member’s final teenage year. The 7-song record shows Kayo gliding through smooth melodies and hard-hitting beats. Starting off with the introductory “Song”, Yung Kayo crafts the story of a teenager navigating his desire for creativity and escapism
Encompassing tracks that blend his signature rap-yelling sound with hyperpop beats that come just close enough to take over the song, but never quite outweigh Kayo’s lyrical prowess, Kayo showcases the versatility of his vocal strength and songwriting skills throughout the EP. With a guest appearance from the late Lil Keed, Yung Kayo’s collaborator and close friend, “I Wouldn’t” quickly presents itself as a standout track.
