RHOME Flexes his Ability as Both a Lyricist and Creative Director on his Debut Album, “Uncle Macc”

Published

on

Los Angeles rapper Rhome delivers “Uncle Macc”, his debut album with a collection of 10 tracks that range from boastful, rapid-fire flows to pensive and soulful tracks from an array of collaborators. Uncle Macc is a character Rhome plays that comments on the rapper’s life, lacing through the whole tape.

The project begins with “Afrodisiac”, a soulful track that features theMIND who delivers a savory performance that is vastly different than the majority of this album. Where most of the project focuses on Rhome’s lyrical prowess, it’s a perfectly executed risk that pays off big time. Tracks like “Golden Boy Freestyle” and “Oz” are the more braggadocious, rapiddy rap tracks on this project. However, Rhome makes sure not to pigeonhole himself, with the standouts “Hillary Duff” ft. WESTSIDE BOOGIE and an introspective cut alongside Mick Jenkins titled “Furlough”

The track deals with the struggles of pushing yourself to your creative limits while chasing your dreams. At the end of the day, wanting to be a great artist is really taxing and Rhome explores that theme in the song.
Towards the middle of the project, theMIND delivers another soulful break with “Ace of Spades (Interlude)”. The song adds yet another creative dimension to Rhome’s sound and ability to creatively direct this body of work.“Uncle Macc” is Rhome’s first full-length project and is surely going to make a splash. Armed with top-notch features and a concise yet detailed account of his life, Rhome is destined to become the next big name out of Los Angeles.Born and raised in Los Angeles, RHOME is the first artist signed to NBA star Marvin Bagley III’s (aka MB3FIVE) independent label 3FIVE Entertainment.
