Video Spotlight: BandGang Jizzle P Goes Hard In “Federal”

The BandGang collective has been putting in some serious work in 2018. Releases have been steadily coming from one of Detroit’s most notable camps like clockwork, and the world is continuing to be exposed to the rap capabilities of each of the group’s members. BandGang Jizzle P is the latest from the group to release a video with “Federal,” a heavy-handed street opus that channels classic Detroit for a fresh, updated feel.
One of the most interesting aspects of this video is the song itself. It features production with a prominent piano loop that lacks any bass for the first half of it. Just when you think that you’ve heard all that the song has to offer, the switch flips and 30,000 jolts of bass scorch your ears, leaving you nodding wistfully in its wake. The addition of bass really helps it to end on a better note and take full advantage of Jizzle’s hard flows.
Go watch “Federal” below. Try not to not your head too hard.

Obasi Jackson Drops “What It Is”

Starting the new year off on a high note, Obasi Jackson released his new video, “What It Is,” as premiered exclusively on BET Jams. The video, directed by Leo Chen, was broadcasted throughout the day, Friday, Jan. 15th, on BET – with an accompanying digital premiere on BET.com.
“What It Is,” which is also available on all DSP’s via EMPIRE, sets the tone for the remainder of the year – which looks to be both eventful and fruitful for the young rising star out of Brooklyn. This is just the beginning.
Earlier in the month, Obasi brought in the new year with a “Peace of Mind,” as he sat down with Taraji P. Henson on her Facebook Watch Original series. In this episode, Obasi opened up about mental health, dealing with the loss of his brother, Pop Smoke, and more.
