Slim Mason knows how to paint a grotesque scene. The Detroit prospect comes out of the blue in “Deadman” with a vicious panache that instantly transfixes you, making you eager to find out the extent of his violent, mental capacity. This isn’t a song concerned with relaying intricate wordplay; it’s focused on bringing you along into a world of darkness and danger. Surprisingly, the visual is shot in the daylight, so there’s a nice juxtaposition in effect.
