Friday Gems: @612SolFranco drops something exquisite with “AYA”
Newcomer $ol Franco knows how to use autotune. He isn’t overbearing, or, on the flipside, bound to traditional uses. He’s experimental, uncompromising, and a general badass. On his single “AYA,” found by surfing through some of SoundCloud’s hottest artists pages, he lets autotune boost him up a notch, with the help of production that’s silky smooth, yet violent. The trunk-rattling bass can account for that, but the whole product is something that’s meant to be digested multiple times. If you find it hard to stomach on the first listen, try it again. Two Chicago artists, FlossMobChase and producer SauceManKeys, link up to drop the drill single, “Defense”.. the single is different from what Chase has released before. He speeds up his rap tempo, delivering a flow that’s infectious, creative and hard hitting – while maintaining his smooth voice. Producer, SauceManKeys, is emerging from the Windy City himself. As an indie artist he’s been dropping beats for years online and is now starting to create an industry buzz.
