It’s entirely possible if you’ve never heard of Stoopidxool and you live in Detroit. His existence is rooted firmly in cloud rap that prioritizes aesthetic over lyrical content. His productions are powerful and surpisingly heartfelt. The best way to describe them would be if you mixed trap music stylings with the earnestness of mid 90s R & B. His sound is in demand across the country, so, if you haven’t heard of him prior to this, you’ll be hearing his name very soon. Oh yeah, his use of an obnoxiously loud “PLUG” beat tag is the most genius thing we’ve heard all year.
His production could definitely be classified as a gem. So much so, in fact, that we’ve decided to make him the focus of our second Friday Gems playlist. Listen first, ask questions later. You’ll probably zone out, but don’t worry. That’s normal when finding something that you’ll vibe out to.
