BandUp Yoshi is overly energetic in “Relapse”

Published

We’re going to keep it all the way real: we got dizzy the first time watching BandUp Yoshi’s “Relapse.” His hyperactive aesthetic is tiring, the visual, shot by Bandamount, moves so fast and turns so much, that we nearly fell over. By the time the video ends, we felt like we’d just took the Pacer Test. But upon repeated viewings, we became in shape. And we appreciated “Relapse” for what it is – anarchic rap with a sprinkle of tenacity. Give it a chance, it’ll grow on you, surely.

“Family Tree” is the track that you need to hear, right now

Published

Baby’s World. Baby Money. Roley Gang Blu. Debo. These four rappers have the collaboration of the year in “Family Tree” a no-nonsense, straight-to-the-money banger with enough piano panache that will make you catch the soulful bug. The track is so smooth and thorough with no time for measly choruses – just four verses in rapid succession, only stopping to take a breather. Crisp camerawork makes this one of the year’s best packages and you’ll become just as enamored with it as we are.

Rob II Khul knows how to craft a banger with “Ox Blood”

Published

on

“Ox Blood” is a simple, catchy song with a beautiful refrain that keeps on giving. Rob II Khul’s record shows that he’s no stranger to the hit-making circle and that he has some serious knowledge of how to craft something that has the potential to be meme-able. The way that he raps incroporates some melodic moments and comes off as extremely confident, something that many of his contemporaries struggle with.

TheConnorClark covers AllStar JR’s “Deep In The Game”

Published

TheConnorClark has another one. His cover of AllStar JR’s “Deep In The Game” is magnificent, evoking a similar emotional sentiment that the original hints at. Connor plays the guitar with such emotional gusto that you can hear the pain that he strums. Laying the visual over JR’s own emotional video that reeks of sadness further amplifies the effect. Connor continues to show excellent artistry and visual acumen.
